The Watch Dogs Thread v2.0

well Watch dogs is abit too easy though, silenced weapon + hacking = no way to get spotted. i literally have no trouble, i just go around blowing up anyone that can be blown up by hacking, then disabling reinforcements, then i pick people off one by one with silenced pistol or rifle

its still satisfying though so i dont mind it as much.

It fulfills the power fantasy in a way no other game does. I think it all comes down to how you play it. There are so many things you can do to lure baddies and use the environment against them. I feel bad for those people who just run and gun. fire fights can get pretty tough too, though- as the AI loves to flank and you don't have a ton of life.

It's impressive that they even do it with the cars. They don't pull over together- they surround you, and are constantly moving. I've died on crime prevention quests because they call their friends in.

I also have lots of fun with the driving missions too.chase scenes are a blast, imo, and I love utilizing the environment.

I can see were some people may not like it, but you just have to treat it like a game and it's not hard to work out. I only wish there was more finesse to it. The analog range is small.

I absolutely hate fixer missions. I don't bother with them anymore. Gang hideouts are fun, but I wish more thought was put into them in them other than thugs walking around an empty parking garage or construction site, while the target is just standing there like a statue waiting to be taken out. I am enjoying the main missions a lot more than anything else. They aren't too bad and have exceeded my expectations in a positive way.

I am loving everything about this game. Great graphics, story, and the missions have all been very fun IMO. I'm about 6-7 hours in.

So if you guys had to choose between this and Assassins Crees, which is more fun?

I last about an hour with Assassins Creed games before I grow bored, but I'm still enjoying Watch Dogs a lot after around 20 hours. But I prefer modern settings, so it may just be me.

There was an update for this game earlier on X1. The update never took for me & a lot of people online were expressing that too so I went to bed. I got back & it's not asking to update anymore. I don't know if I got an update now or not. lol. The PC update/patch coming was supposed to help with some of the online issues, so I hope the X1 version followed suit or will follow suit. I'm most interested on if they could make the connection/framerate better in the File Decryption 4 vs. 4 mode online because that was pretty fun & something different...but it just ran SOOOO bad the past couple times I played it. I'm talking 5 FPS.

AC4 > Watch Dogs in content. As in fun factor, I'd say they are equal. Of course, there will be a Watch Dogs sequel (Typical Ubisoft) which will improve and add on the content the game currently offers.

Game is off to a great start when it comes to sales, some UK numbers were reported today, it's crazy that the PS4 accounts for 49% of sales, that's as much as the X1, 360 and PS3 versions combined.

Watch Dogs debuted at No.1 on the UK all formats all prices chart for the week ended May 31.

Retail monitor Chart-Track said the game smashed the previous week one sales record for a new IP, eclipsing LA Noire's launch week total by 58 per cent. It also recorded the 17th highest week one sales of any game in the UK.

The PS4 version of Watch Dogs accounted for 49 per cent of first week sales, followed by the Xbox One edition (27%), the Xbox 360 version (13%) and the PS3 edition (9%).

Looks like it helped move some PS4's in the UK as well, all of that complaining about downgrades on neogaf and other forums sure hasn't hurt initial sales.

PlayStation 4 counted for the vast majority of physical copies and helped the PS4 itself to a 94 per cent increase in hardware sales over last week.

AC4 is probably the 2nd worst AC IMO. They devolved the on-foot combat majorly, and I grew tired of ship combat pretty quick. You can only board a ship so many times before it's just tedious.... Obviously I've not had watch_dogs or put in as much time as I did with AC4, but so far I would say watch_dogs > AC4 in every way

Just think of where AC started and where it is now. If Watch Dogs is starting here, imagine where the series could be on it's 5th or 6th iteration.

Seems the PS4 train of domination is still rolling on by.
Those are some awesome figures!

I disagree completely, AC was tied for the best in the series for me, and after playing WD, it just doesn't compare, far too repetitive outside the main campaign. I really loved the naval battles in AC4, of course boarding gets old, but thats not all you can do.

Any tips on how to lose those overly aggressive cops, they are relentless.

I've switched the online stuff off for now. Might switch it back on after I finish the main story but it was getting annoying and not helped by people glitching it.

I turned all of the online stuff off before I even started the game, I just don't have any interest in people coming into my game and interrupting me.

Those are the easiest quests. All you do is chase and take down.

I mean if you let them call their gang buddies. I don't usually shoot them( I like to do the take-down), and sometimes they get enough distance initially that it takes some time to catch 'em on foot. I know I can jam the phone, but I sometimes let them make the call so I can get in a shoot out.

Use your environment. Time your hacks. I love the chases, personally. I don't think they are too frustrating or difficult. The helicopters are easy to lose if you stay under the train tracks. I like to open the garages and close the doors when I get through. The game lets you know by your icon blinking whenever there is an opportunity to take them out with the hacks.

yeah I dont like the fixer missions much the first one i tried a few times till i just skipped it. I will use those tips frozpot also turning down sensitivity to 30-20 helps when driving.

To each his own I guess, all I know is I got bored of AC:BF faster than any other AC game yet. Revelations is the only one I'd rank lower, maybe AC 1 as well...

Thanks for the advice. I'll try them soon enough. I've only barely scratched the surface of what this game offers. So far I've been driving around taking in the gorgeous setting.

Just finished Act 2. Still trying to figure out why that act had 15 missions and the rest of them have less than 10 each.

I am having the loading screen issues
not fun at all

frankly I prefer Wolfenstein over this game
WD has too many side type missions to the point of redundancy or frankly irritation
it gets to the point I just want the game to be over, and then with the loading issues...
not a great experience

Dang, you guys are all over the board with this game. It sucks, it's great, it's ok, it's fun, it's better than I thought, it's like this game and that game. I am so tempted, but now I feel I might wait for the bargain bin on this. Not sure...so tempted. I really want to have the game be a FarCry3 game for me, which I loved.

So anyone still playing this? What a lousy game this is, I don't think I can stomach playing it anymore and I'm still in the first chapter I think. Glad Gamestop & Best Buy are offering $40 trade.

I stopped playing until the PC patch comes, I refuse to play the game at console settings.
