Who's going all digital next gen?

Love the idea of digital. Pricing is a concern since sales and price drops usually happen at a much slower rate judging by GoD. With MS and publishers looking to make DD mainstream, maybe this will change next gen. On the flip side, most games I am really anticipating are day one buys where discounts are rare. I don't trade used games because it feels like rape. Maybe if Gamestop starts seeing their entire existence threatened by DD they will start offering better trade deals? I guess I'm in for digital downloads but will keep an open mind.

I'm going all digital. I like the idea of bringing up the game and switching between with just my voice. I am already doing this on the current Xbox and I know the process will be even better with a device designed for it.

As long there is a disc that gets traded in there will be a storage problem, the more of the same game gets trade the less value it becomes.

Since its always on, kinda, I am hoping that if we pay in full for the digital preorder then it will just auto download at midnight, then by the time I am up, I can play a bit before work!

Digital, I don't buy that many games anyway, maybe 4-5 a year, just not enough time..

I just hope they will preload them before release, so it's ready to play same time as out in stores,

Prolly 50/50, there will still be games that I know I'll only want to playthrough once and want to trade in.

I am. The Xbox 360 has a pretty good digital store. Games are being released cheaper than I've seen in Gamestop.

Anything for me personally will be almost certainly digital. May pick up stuff on physical media for the boys since unwrapping a present with a piece of paper that says "Xbox, play Lego Marvel Super Heroes" won't be as much fun as unwrapping the game box. And because I generally like to pick up stuff for my son after it's been out a while so it's new to him and cheaper for me (got him the PS2, yes, 2, last Christmas).

This generation I have sold on stuff as in traded in, then ended up buying from games on demand to play the same game again......however, I am a massive supporter of the 'brick and morter' Game shops (UK) so I think I will continue to support them and buy Disc based stuff......however if games are on download on release date....that may make my resolve hard.....

they will probably charge more for digital versions, so not a chance of me going all in on digital.
Doubtful mate. Can't see them doing such a thing when DD is the direction games are going to go anyway. They need to create incentives to go digital from the gate, so it's better for them to match or either charge less.

Farming Simulator £29.99 v £24.85

KILLER IS DEAD £49.99 v £29.99

i can't see digital Xbox prices matching or being lower than my local shop. but we are sure to find out in 60+ days for sure.

Nope, i'm never going all digital. I'm alright with never playing a new game again if we go to full digital distribution. Awful idea is awful.

Payday 2 is $40 retail, $40 on PSN, and $35 on GoD. Digital usually is the same price as retail, but retail gets knocked down quicker...publishers seem to forget about PSN/GoD

day one games will be the same price.
probably, but store prices have a habit of falling rather quickly, digital on 360.. not so much.
thats not to say i haven't bought my fare share of digital games with Max Payne 3 being one of my latest (in the last sale).

I'll probably just go digital for the games I know I'm going to stick alot of time into (bf4, titanfall) . Everything else will be physical unless there is a good sale on demand.

i will never go digital only. the day sony and ms does this is the day i stop gameing.
any way the xbone 1 only has a 500 gig drive and you cant change it

Another reason for all digital is the lack of sales tax. I know not all states have sales tax but for those that do this will save a few bucks.

No chance I'll put my entire game collection in MS' hands. I have consoles from all the generations as well as games from them. I don't like the idea that ten years down the road someone can flick a switch and all of this generation could be lost. They said that would never happen, but I don't trust them to take them at face value. They squandered that and will have to earn it back.

I can't wait for the first banning and someone to be locked out of their game collection for weeks. Man...will that thread be fun.

Not the Europe, not in Germany at least. Everything is tax, even online sales, & our tax is a massive 19%, & income tax even more alarming, almost 50%. Maybe that's why I cannot related to people here that have higher priority to, say not having to reach their disk, or have large storage space for disk, then having the ability to trade/sell games.

You don't need to change it. Just add an external hard drive to the usb 3.0 port.

All digital here. Next generation is here. Only way I will get physical discs is when they allow us to install and play without the disc in there.

you know all they have to do is send a patch and you can download all your games, Steam have the same thing as well where even if they company goes down they will send the last patch so you can have the game in any way you want.

You do know you can have it all downloaded so they cant flick a switch and make your games go away.
