Xbox General Discussion 2K24

And the only people that care or know about any of that are the console wars fanboys.

Not really. Yes it affects the console war narrative for social media but It will also start to get into affecting decisions of what platform to invest into for some because of uncertainty or seeing a trend form. You would want your next console or gaming platform to give you the best access to most games , right ?

If MS continues to port out then it'll be interesting to see what happens for mid and next gen.

Well, PC would be the optimal choice then if that were the case. The typical casual gamer knows no difference.

Would it? If a console gamer knows it’ll release there, they can wait for a game to come to their console of preference, why can’t a knowing PC gamer wait for a game to be released there?

Yeah because you would have the best graphics/performance for every game for sure if your PC is beefy enough (which for me is), you wouldn't need to pay for online play (free), and you know games will always be supported on the PC because of how big the gamer base is. You wouldn't have to invest in other ecosystems to gain access to the said games if you didn't need to. I.e. PS still have day 1 console exclusives I'd like to play so I'm still in there however once they go day 1 like Xbox, then no need for a console anymore for me.

This would provide me the best/most frugal option to just focus purely on PC without spending extra expenses in other ecosystems. Especially as I get older, the less time I'll have for gaming too.

But the damns have been broken, there are multiplatform ps titles released day one, many of the older ones take like six months to release.

To me the only perk of a PC game would be the mod community, and even then it may be a chore to set up.

Still only see live service games day 1 going to PC for rest of this gen for now. Their SP games don't nearly do as well on the PC as we already see. Spending more resources and splitting development for PC platform as well will just create even less polished games than what we see now IMO.

Should focus on console first , then later down the line when sales plateau port to PC.
