it seems that way, mlb the show, death stranding and horizon...horizon seems like it’ll come to of under the assumption that death stranding is using their engine.

and the dreams devs seem quite adamant in pushing it to other platforms. I hope it does, this is almost Sony’s equipment to Minecraft.
Dreams devs can want what they want but SONY is the one to decide.
Horizon is old and still rumored.
Death Stranding is a Kojima Productions game that Sony published on PS4.
MLB The Show had to go multiplat or Sony would lose the license.

Not seeing what he said lining up...

Web sites always are looking to have the scoop and post/tell it as fast as they can. GTFOH with that bs talk with me.
So, they trust him as an inside host, and he "reports" this secret information, and you think this is OK?

It wasn't on the inside of this. Either Microsoft told him and they wanted him to leak it or someone else told him and its fair game to leak it.

Even if someone told him so, there is no reason for HIM to say anything.

As long as you are upset any time someone leaks something then that is fine for you to say

But you still aren't considering the possibility that Microsoft could have wanted it leaked.

I just don't understand why he doesn't get that, he is only doing things like this to help is ego.

It wasn't his place to say anything.

Loose lips finally got the best on him at his own show.
I understand that you are so dedicated to MS that you wanna play the MS victim card and believe everything.
You used to listen to crap gamer and now listen to the dealer.

Pretty cool, use headphones:

Thanks for posting! I love how good audio in a good game can give a virtual experience with just a flat screen. My bright projector/screen is 100", and the feeling is pretty darn immersive, especially in 1st person mode and/or driving in the cockpit.

I have both an Atmos 5.1.2 receiver, and the app plugin for headphones, at home. I never feel like I'm missing out either way, but I can definitely pick up on a little more detail with the headphones, but directionality might be a little more specific with the speakers. Both are superior to 2.0 and 5.1 by a mile.

I honestly find it weird that Microsoft and Sony seem to be trying to achieve the same exact upgrades with their consoles, as this kind of built-in 3D surround sound processing was one of the first things that leaked about PS5. Like the SSD and RT, the features like this seem to be eerily similar on both consoles. It may sound like conspiracy theory territory, but I have to wonder if they aren't purposefully sharing information these days, as they are very chummy lately. Maybe not, but I can't be the only one that finds it strange that so many of the same new features are coming to both. Microsoft has been working with Dolby Atmos for a while now, so maybe they could have the edge here, but even if so, both consoles will have vastly superior sound to this generation, imo. It should be like going from baked in lighting to RT, but with soundwaves instead of light.

...also on Dolby Atmos, I have to say that I just had a thought that Microsoft (and maybe Sony too) could probably go for here. Currently, XB1S/XB1X can convert everything to Atmos by upscaling the content. (as well as map real Atmos in games to that same layer) Since they are going for real time sound reflection processing in hardware now, they could definitely just do a system-wide true Atmos layer that does not just upscale...meaning they could possibly just get the rights from Dolby to have every single game running in true Atmos this time. This would truly be next level stuff, IMO. All of the sudden, sound would take a giant leap forward. Even for indy games.

Yeah sound is very important.
So glad to see they are improving it for the next gen.
Not sure if both will use the same codecs or be based on Atmos or DTS X.

I just got a headset that does 3D audio and it's pretty good compared to my 7.2.2 Atmos AVR as I can hear above and below me.

Xbox gives you the capability for outputting in DTS-HD, but stops short of DTS:X (they probably have a thing with Dolby, and I bet their virtual sound mapping probably contains Dolby code somewhere). I'd honestly be good with either one from either console, especially with this real-time processing. They are mostly identical formats, with some slight differences. I think Dolby has a huge head start though, and is probably more flexible.

One of the unseen benefits of PS5 having this type of 3D audio hardware is for quality, lifelike VR audio out of the box, without additional hardware or baked in software audio processing anywhere.
