Here's a round up combining rumors and confirmations for the 1st party studios for July:
- 343 - Halo Infinite
- The Initiative - Perfect Dark re-imagining
- Coalition - helping on PD multiplayer
- Playground - Fable re-imagining
- Obsidian - Skyrim-like RPG using existing IP (possibly Pillars)
- Ninja Theory - Hellblade 2
- Turn 10 - Forza Motorsport
- Compulsion - New IP - narrative driven horror
- Rare - Everwild (rumors are mixed but lean towards gameplay reveal now)
- InXile - won't show their AAA game since it's early
- Double Fine - Psychonauts 2
In addition, there will be games from Microsoft publishing, partnerships and potentially another studio purchase announcement. Taking these later possibilities out of the equation, if you found out the above rumors were true, how would that impact your feelings about the direction of 1st party now?
- More optimisitic/positive
- No change in feelings/wait and see
- More pessimistic/negative
Just taking the temperature of this forum as it stands today. Will be curious to see how temperature compares to how everyone feels after July event.
For me, no change in feelings. I've been optimistic about the talent from the get and don't care whether the IP has been used in the past or not. What matters is a combination of quality, innovation and evolution of the games. What say you?
Disclaimer: Realize I may have been off base in previous comments and Xbox fans could be upset about lack of new IP in July. Even though it's anecdotal, will be interested to see where this forum stands.
