Unfortunately not its 1/3 or 2/3. But if you remember Windows 8 metro apps could also be only snapped this way. Then Windows 8.1 brought 1/2 snapping, so there is hope perhaps with a future update.

Yes go ahead and set it up on your old TV. For the calibration you will have to go into the Xbox settings, you can do this on the new TV. You will need your TV remote handy and set the lighting to what you would normally have before you begin.

Thanks - good to know where I can find where I can calibrate the tv!

Hardware: it's just quality, pictures don't do justice. The system looks and feels like a premium AV device and will not look out of place in your setup. The Xbox is very quite. No problems with the hardware.

Controller: much improved controller, just feels nice and fits like a glove, love it! My only minor gripe is that the shoulder buttons seems to be a bot higher than I'm used to. But I guess I will get used to it soon. Only thing missing is my FPS freaks, need to check the site to see if they've got ones available for the One.

Kinect: first thoughts was it looks big and chunky, but feels really solid. I think it can take a knock or two and still work (though I don't want to try it). The voice commands work surprisingly well, but if there was noise in the room I had to repeat the commands or tome down the volume on my TV a notch or two before Kinect would hear me. Hopefully MS will update the software so it works better in noisy environments. Other than that, all the commands works well for me. Its seems it works better with a normal tone of voice than shouting commands.

Update: The day one update is about 500mb. I have 55mbps down and 15mbps up verified from the Xbox one. The update to download and install took me 10 minutes.

Setup: The setup is a breeze and doesn't take too long to get things going. However, the apps needs to be downloaded on first use. The TV calibration is very good and definitely recommend it if you don't have professional calibration kits.

Games: I bought Forza from the store, after 15 minutes of download it was ready to play. I estimate it took 1hr 30minutes to download the entire game.
Will it ask you if you want to calibrate your TV in the initial set up or is that something you need to go looking for later?

I would keep it at the 70/30 ratio for sports, shooters and fighting games. It would help the focus stay on what's more important. But for RPG games etc. I can see why people would want a 50/50.

Nah.. not for me. I would like a choice of 80/20, 70/30, 60/40, 50/50.

So there is no more 'storage' option to check what is installed and taking up space? I get MS wants to make it as simple as using a phone/tablet but for a game console that is going to quickly run up against storage constraints this is a huge shortcoming.

No excuse for an unorganized store. Again its early and a store with twenty games might look barrens but this unorganized view will quickly go from looking full to looking a cluttered mess. It's not like MS should not have a better handle on this as we have seen the 360, windows phone and window 8 store go through multiple iterations to make them suck less. Is there an option to sort by price or download size?

I wonder if slow installs are partially related to the 5400 rpm hard drive. Not sure why MS would choose to go with that speed, its pretty sad. I realize solid state would not be a cost effective option but considering consumers cannot swap their own drives I would have like to see a hybrid solution.

Here is me playing Forza and watching TV

So how do you snap TV? I mean what's the command? "Xbox, Snap TV"?

First impressions ..

- It's a box - it's black... :)
- Larger than X360 slim (not by much)...
- Runs quiet - installing a game now (BF4) - "hums" in my credenza. Otherwise - whisper quiet.
- Much Faster than X360
- While waiting - finally got to play around with PS4 demo at store.
- X1 OS/UI is hands down much better than PS4 UI/OS = much more fluid and (as expected) approachable.
- PS4, by comparison, feels "bare bones"... but serviceable.
- Game updates are HUGE - hope you have data plans.. :)
- BF4 = 1.1 GB
- Forza 5 = 6GB!!!! (WTH?)
- AC4 = ??? (installing BF4 first)

Will update more as I fool around with it - overall - very happy and impressed so far...

Jesus....those are just updates? In no time that free space for games will be filled.

BF has always had large updates. Mainly cause they generally have added content(maps).

Forza 5 I believe has a large amount of the cars and/or tracks that need downloading and I assume that is most of that update.

Inboxes it and set it up. Unbelievable! Completely quiet, updates were fast and setup was a breeze. Kinect 2.0 is freaking fantastic! Miles ahead of K1.0. Voice command is a homerun. Controller feels and works as good or better than the 360 and the OS as a whole is the bests MS has put out yet. Hitting the sack and will be putting in Forza and Ryse tonight. Have fun peeps. I am so far. Love, love, love the all in one, Xbox One!

I have an old Kinect mount that clipped to the top of my tv. Anyone know the base of the new Kinect is similar size, and will fit that mount, or will I need to buy a new one for X1?

Oh man. You guys have no idea what it's like to say, "Xbox On," and "Xbox Turn Off - YES," to power on/off the console AND TV.

"Xbox Volume Up/Down" also works perfectly with my receiver.

The entire TV/receiver set up was gloriously easy.

They really need to ad a storage section, i do not like not being able to see how much space i have available and what is downloaded.

Does anyone have a solution for my TV question, I do not want to always have the xbox on for TV and I was suggested an HDMI splitter but I dont think that would work because the cable box would still only be going to the TV and not the xbox? Is there any way to make this work or no?

Having issues with "playing while installing". Ryse is now over 60% done! and says "ready to play", but all I can do is load the main screen and browse menus. Am I doing it wrong???

Don't you just hold it up to the Kinect? You can always do it through Xbox.com. I hated entering it through the controller.
Yeah I think the command is "Xbox, Scan Code" or something along those lines.

My son has his One hooked up just to his tv, no receiver or anything. Do I still need to do a setup?

Well, I got cold feet yesterday and canceled my Amazon pre order. I got a PS4 last Friday and was feeling guilty for getting both systems.

Woke up this morning and couldn't bear it, just had to have it. OK'd it with the wife----->

Showed up at Best Buy 10 mins before opening.....and they had 4 left! Picked up Dead Rising 3 and Ryse.

Hype? Hype!

Impressions or it didn't happen!
