I'm glad to hear you liked Alan Wake. It really is an amazing game. I don't think it'll be long before we get a sequel on the Xbox One. I would hope Microsoft and Remedy know it's high on our wish list.

Yeah, i mean...see those Quantum Break visuals? Imagine how Alan Wake 2 would look. I can understand it if MS was like....."Hey we like AW too, but the sales in general weren't too amazing. Let's give this new IP a shot. " i am just assuming here, but Remedy probably came with ideas for both AW2 and QB and i think MS just saw a bigger potential in QB.

In other news.......big new Capcom game incoming:

Alan Wake 2 has to happen. If they start working on AW2 after QB and they've gotten plenty of xp with X1, can you imagine how immersive it could be?

I read Capcom is working with Dimps again for an upcoming project. Dimps is the same development team that made Streetfighter 4. I'm hoping Capcom vs Snk 3.

Got a little bored so decided to try my hand at making a video. This is just some of the games I am looking forward to in 2014 for the xbox one. I kept it relatively short at 82 seconds :)

Some really great games on their way this year; I can't wait.

Feedback on your video:

Your cuts are pretty good, nothing too jarring and overall pretty smooth.
I'm not sure the music is the best choice for the video. It fits best at the beginning, but definitely seems out of place during several portions of the video. I definitely think that a better choice of music and when to make cuts and transitions in tandem with the music changes would have benefited your video overall.
The beginning could benefit from something of opener, like the xbox logo opener or something, and smoothly transition to the Ori bit.
The weakest point, and it is very hard to make good choices in this regard, is probably the ending with it just kind of dropping off.

All that said, nice video overall dude. Video editing is not an easy from both a design and process standpoint, so good job. Way to do something useful with your time.

Watching without sound, but looks cool. Should be a commercial.

Yeah. I tried fusing 2 pieces of generic music that came with the video editing software. So my choices were limited.
I totally agree on the opener, and am in the process of adding one.

It is a learning process, and feedback like this will only help me improve quicker. Have to say though, video editing is kind of fun :)

Thanks for feedback bro. Much appreciated.

Yeah, it can be really fun and very cool to see your ideas come to life and sort of take on an identity of their own.

Not bad Menace. Not bad at all!;)

Video Editing is powerful stuff dude. What software are you using for editing, and where did you get your clips?

Also, try to add pacing and rhythm to your visuals. The music serves to heighten the emotional impact of what we're seeing visually. Keep at it man!

Premiere Elements 12 and I got the clips from Gamersyde mostly, and few downloaded from Youtube.

Just a couple of weeks ago I was hired to do a commercial for this company in North Carolina. Took me about a week to get it done. I think it'll be shown regionally, or perhaps ust in the state. Im not sure at the moment. Supposed to find out this weekend. You and I dont agree on the gaming aspect :p, but we may have something in common with editing. If you need advice or pointers, hit me up.

I really would like to see one, but i hope to god they don't draw inspiration from American Nightmare, cause that IMO is just not a very good game at all. It starts out fine but that whole timeloop s*** is ridiculous, making you do do that stuff over three times, i actually just quit the game because of that and because in general i just don't find it that interesting or good. Big let down this one and i am glad i did not buy it full price.

Pretty good man, especially since you are new to it. Zycthe is right on the money. It's good to keep your cut length and content in harmony with the music tempo (or if you are feeling artsy, in opposition). Definitely make the actual cut on beat- it helps augment the overall feel. Much better than most noobs. I think once you get more vids under your belt, you will be quite good. You've definitely got a natural feel for it, imo- just need some things brought to your attention. Doesn't hurt to plan out your shots ahead of time and kind of come full circle.

Well, that was always meant as a kind of add-on, not a full game. I thought it really good, and I LOVE the little murder videos created by your alter ego, lol.

One more thing that can help tremendously when editing; keep in mind that peoples attention span when watching anything is about 3 to 5 seconds before they get bored of that shot. Back in the early 60's. 70's, 80's and 90's, you could keep the same clip running for 6 to even nine to ten seconds and get away with it. And thats without panning, tilting or zoom-in's. The world is a faster place these days and peoples minds are easily distracted, so try to keep your clip count to 3 seconds, no more than 4 to keep them drawn in. Also, Im sure Elements has options to add motion to your clips so adding those within a clip will draw even more interest.

K. Im done.

Roger that. Will try to keep that in me noggin.
Thanks :)

WAIT, XBOX have launched in other regions?

Talk about quiet lanuch, I went to Gamespot & Eurogamer didn't even find an article on it.

Found a small article on Eurogamer on the launch territories.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-09-02-xbox-one-launches-in-28-new-countries-this-month

Microsoft has announced a slew of launch dates for the Xbox One this month where it will launch in 28 additional territories including Japan, China, Sweden, Denmark and more.

jpg

The console's launch dates will be as follows:

  • 2nd September: Chile and Colombia
  • 4th September: Japan
  • 5th September: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates
  • 15th September: Israel
  • 23rd September: Hong Kong, India, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, China
  • 26th September: Russia
"For gamers in Argentina, we'll have more to share on our launch plans shortly, Microsoft added on its News Wire.

When all is said and done, Xbox One will be in 41 territories by the end of the month. For comparison's sake, the PS4 is out in 58 territories, with it launching in 48 of them since last year.

Today i finished Alan Wake and i loved it. Great game. And it got me wondering...i recall several mysterious messages from Sam Lake way before the Xbox One reveal and it was about Alan Wake. We all thought it was AW for the new Xbox at that time. Whatever happened to that? Or....unknown?
The game is awesome. I didn't get the "repetitive" criticism personally. Plenty of ways to dispatch the bad guys and the story/pacing was fantastic....a bit convoluted but I'm a fan of "mind f*ck" plots :) where you can come to your own conclusion/hypothesis. I would be over the moon if AW2 was announced after Quantum Break.

Yeah infamous is 1080/30-40 fps.

Hopefully we'll get some form of 900p/30 with drops only in intense scenes.

Well, the reason for the drops probably has to do with console power, time in development, and coding. Just like how Infamous drops below 30fps as well. I am sure the reason for Infamous drops is the same reason for Sunset drops.

American Nightmare was kind of weak but 'The Signal' and 'The Writer' before it were really good DLC episodes. They are both more than worth it to get.
