When a twitter alert pops up, you literally have seconds to grab one. I've seen twitter posts that are 2 minutes old and they are long gone.

I have seen a live youtube video that has command lines to refresh the retails web page to see if it is available to make a buy.

I did this before the launch and got bupkis for like the first 2 weeks (probably expected as launch allocation was all accounted for). But over the last week I've gotten like 5 hits (4 for the S and 1 for the X) (2 Sams Club, 2 Microsoft Store, 1 <can't remember>). I should have got the S at Sams club but when I was checking out, the site came back as under maintenance and there was another hit for it but it was 2:00am my time and of course was asleep). Got a hit this morning for Microsoft and immediately clicked on it and checked out as fast as I could...lol. On the order page it said ships in 2-3 business days but the order hasn't updated from Pending yet. I'll be selling my X1S and X1X...only problem is that I need another storage card!

Try it out and see if it works for you (note: I am in no way affiliated with ZooLert, just happened to use it and it came through for me)...it may be faster than Wario!!!

I'm just going to throw out another plug for this (I'm really not affiliated with this in any way). Only reason I'm throwing this out is that 3 times over the last week or so, I've got an alert from this for Walmart.com for the Series S. Every single time, I was able to add to cart (and I presume would have been able to check out). Just make sure that at major retailers, you already have an account setup with CC info in there so you can do like 3 clicks and maybe just enter the CVV code and done. You can delete that info after you're done with this :).

How do these sell out so fast after they become available? I have a hard time picturing parents or anyone checking these websites daily/hourly for the past couple months.

Well target did it very different. You have to pick it up and you only can buy one. It very different then to say Newegg.com because there is no stores.

Plus it is in stores but you have to buy it online with your zip code.

That is much of a difficult task for scalpers to do.
