Getting alot of conflicting reports.
At this point multiplatform could mean just Switch and PC.
IF MS could get Carmack back on board, this in and of itself is huge news.
Going by Phil Spencer's comment, I don't think there is anymore conflict. But one thing that stands out from Pete/Tony is talking about screen size, and not using controllers. That would be xCloud streaming games. Switch screens size. And then of course Xbox and Microsoft Windows PC.
This is such good news for PC gaming as well!
The possibilities if they get Carmack back in with the Doom Eternal guys!

Its a really smart acquisition too. Microsoft is an American company. So is Bethesda/Zenimax. They really just did this. That's nuts!

Think of the possibilities. Carmack comes in and MS gives him the time and resources to write a brand new game Engine for Microsoft.

This is what I was saying.
Gamers and PARENTS are price conscious. They are going to look at the UPFRONT costs first and that is where Gamepass is going to make a killing.
I'm sure they could buy their way out if Sony was willing but they spun their other acquisitions this way as well, trying to make it sound like they are being generous when those commitments were already bought and paid for.
