Battlefield V

Looks like the bulk of gameplay and video will be at the MS conference tomorrow.

Feel kind of meh over the gameplay honestly. Maybe because I recently played a bunch of BF1 so just burned out. I do like the idea of how Grand Ops will be over multiple days and change in different ways. Battle Royal mode can get f***ed though.

What’s wrong with a BR mode? I’m looking forward to see what a big dev like Dice or the COD teams do with BR.

BR is so much better than traditional multiplayer modes. It's the future.

I just don’t get how anyone that likes online MP not be excited to see what bigger devs can do with a BR mode. Not like the regular MP not going to be there in BF and COD.

Battlefield, for me, is the only big publisher who I wanted to see do a Battle Royale mode. Battlefield is the perfect game for. Vehicles, team play, large scale conflict, large maps, this is all stuff this studio are experts at. I think the BF V Battle Royale mode has the potential to be the best BR game on the market. And with Gamepass gone, it could end up becoming one of the biggest.

Multiplayer Gameplay with a dev answer questions over the top. Monetisaztion, Companies, customisation, War Stories, bullet penetration, are some of things talked about.

Online MP is ok but I'm much more of a single player/coop player these days. Maybe when I played more I would have been interested but when I watch gameplay of either Fortnite or PUBG, it just looks boring as hell. I'll give Fortnite a bit more credit with the ability to build stuff, but otherwise it seems like since it is so wide open and one life, people just sit around and camp until they are forced to move. There's no other objective than to be the last to survive. We've had that type of game mode since shooters day one.

As far as putting this into Battlefield, I just don't see how it fits with what Battlefield has always been about.

I used to think the same about these BR games, then I played PUBG. Don't get me wrong, sometimes you can get somewhat boring lulls in the mid game, but PUBG is one of the most intense games I have ever played.

Viktor ok I understand your angle if you’re not really into MP anymore.

As for me I didn’t know what to expect going into Battle Royal. I have to say PUBG is some of the most fun and intense MP I’ve played in many years. Of course I will always play regular MP, but I’m excited to see what other devs do with MP.

As long as we get the other modes I don’t see any reason to be against a BR mode being added. We are getting more content for the same price .. why complain ???

Just a waste of resources spent on the current fad imo.

It will be dead in a couple years just like mobas.
Don't judge it by the mess that pubg and fortnite are.
Dice has experience with big player battles and it can work... Also coop and single player is in the game.
My only issue with br and bfv is it not being modern themed as i am not sure if ww2 and br mix.

These people are anti multiplayer people who get upset if the industry chases something they don't like.

BR is one of the biggest and best innovations this industry has seen in a long time.

While it's not a battle royale game, I'd be more interested in something like Escape from Tarkov.

Not that all developers/publishers are going that route, but look at something like EA or Activision. Claiming that no one plays single player games anymore so they either drop them completely, as in the case of that EA Star Wars game or the new Call of Duty, or slop together some quick 5 hour single player story. I'm not anti multiplayer per se, but if it means losing out on a single player experience that I've enjoyed in the past or wasting resources on the current gaming fad, then I'm disappointed. Then again, helps me save money by not buying the garbage.

Looks awesome. If the visuals can come close to those initial videos (rendered I heard), this game will be great.

Seen some footage of that. Seems like it is very similar to the Dark Zone in Division but without the PvE aspect of it. I think in many way it is similar to BR games, though. Not dying is the only way to make the most of it, same as BR.

Seems more tactical though, like no indication of teammates so you have to keep in contact and know your target.
