Middle-Earth Shadow Of Mordor Discussion

This game is great. I'm playing way to much. I got like 20 hours and only done mean story missions. My dude is a walking tank now HA. that one skill where you can just do as many executions as you want in 20 sics damn heads blood going everywhere. think the game will be easy being as my guy is so powerful.

Installed and put in a few hours last night. I am enjoying it, combat is a bit basic, but seems like there is a lot to unlock. Taking out captains in a stronghold area is an epic challenge . Just seems like wave after wave or urks Died a few times trying to do the power struggle mission.

Advance the story to the second map. You get the best ability in the game then. It allows the captains to be under your control and they'll fight for you

I keep trying to hold out, as I have so many other games, but I'll probably have this by the end of the month.

The second area really opens up it looks great! Am doing all the side missions except for the collectibles and artifacts. Game seems a bit easy though i had no trouble taking out a warchief and his two bodyguards but i have been forced to run a couple times simply because there was a seemingly endless wave of uruks and a lot of shield guys which are a big weakness of mine. Crowd control can be pretty hard as there is very few AOE attacks, better to use wraith blast against a few then try focus on the other side.

I'm curious, how is the gore in this? It looks pretty bloody in some shots. Is this a pretty dismemberment heavy game? I ask because I'm playing Dead Island right now and it's making the gore hound in me come out.

It's got some gore. Not as much as dead island but most of the execution kills are brutal and satisfying. The only dismemberment to speak of is when you are lopping off heads. It's not dynamic though, only during executions.

Holy f***tard, this game gets hard fast. But at least its not in a frustating way like Dark Souls. And honestly its not that huge departure from the canon as I was expecting. But to be honest,I wish the orcs would speak in the Black Speech as some of that grumpy dialogue gets old fast. It'd be cool if you could fight other enemies of Gondor such as Haradrim (imagine climbing a mumakil in real time!) or Wainriders (a Mongol-like race that almost conquered Gondor).

To be honest, these games are as likely to be molded by the movies as they are the books. I would have preferred some kind of Spanglish (Blackish?) language.

This is a game that seriously,SERIOUSLY needed a separate Practice mode. There is way too many moves to remember and if you're not familiar with them its too easy to forget them in the heat o f the action.

The Nemesis system is fascinating. Watching a gretchin who got lucky and happened to kill you grow into a captain is funny and aggravating at the same time. Other games would greatly benefit from having a similar system. Imagine if Halo had something like that and you see a Grunt advance in rank.

oh I had to kill a gay war chef. a bonus to make him show up was to kill some orc he had a spacial relationship with. He was mad I did it and said that dudes flush was his to burn or do what he wanted with.

I'll go ahead and finish the kill war chef mission :p I pretty much have all skills now and man can I go on a insane killing rampage.

Fun game I even got the season pass hope we got some good future DLC for the game it really did not tell you what you will get.

That would work with the marine side of halo. would e fun to do that and not have the game be all about MC alone. you could send a group to clear a plant or whatever before MC got there to clean up.

Not sure why but I am struggling in this game. I have not even taken out the 4 warcheifs yet cause I keep getting raped. had this one captain who would totally make my butt bleed and then walked away so he could come back and do it again, and again, and again, and again :smash::bow:

Its the f***ing Immune to Ranged thing tha t makes it so aggravating. I can understand resistant ro arrows, but outright untouchable by arrows is just plain silly.

I unlocked Lethal Wraith Finisher...arrows, lol, keep em...the Lethal Wraith Finisher is boss. I only just unlocked it and since have been walking through Captains and Elite captains. Also took out my second War Chief. Couple that with the upgraded stun which has a kind of AOE going on, and it helps make crowd control a little easier too.

You struggle a bit in the first half but once you get some of the essential upgrades done, you're good to go. What really made things easier for me is the quick and frequent finishers I was getting. 5 hits in and I have two finishers in a row! Ended combats pretty quick.

Personally, I died literally just a few times in the first half. It's all about the timing! When to go in, who to kill, when to counter/dodge. You NEED to take out the annoying Uruks first. The ones with projectiles and huge arse shields in particular!. I myself would always go in stealth like and take out as many as I can until I either get caught or it's just me and the Warchiefs and his captains.

I need 1000 meridin( what ever it is called) more and I get that ability for unlimited executions for 20 seconds  that is going to be freakin awesome.

Game is too easy. Once I unlocked the unlimited executions for 20 seconds I haven't died. I saved up for it and unlocked it first. Mash the execute button, kill everything.

stop using it then.

To be honest, I am not a fan of this 1 difficulty level. I think you need to add options here to better cater to the vast levels of players.

Took out the 4 warcheifs and did the mission. Now I just have to deal with the Black Captain. I also found all the collectibles in the first area, and did all the legend forging side missions.
Really enjoying this game.

I was going to collect all collectibles and forge all weapons before moving onto next area but figured I'll just go back afterwards. It's going to take too long, lol.

It does not take too long with fast travel. The key is staying out of combat and being stealthy.

Just finished the first half and for the first time since I started, I am starting to feel a bit too OP. Haven't died in quite awhile.
