Multiplatform Graphics Discussion [OT]

See if gamersyde still has footage which is uncompressed.

Ok. Will do. I will say that I love the frozen-in-time gameplay element. That's freaking cool! Not only that you can actually observe everything in real-time. Pretty neat!

UPDATE: I can tell you this though.. it has more going on per frame than The Order. In this game, we can at least see pretty far into the screen. That alone may make it more impressive than The Order. But I still think the Order "looks" better. That could be because of the photoreal color palette though.

I think QB looks very good, it's probably one of the best looking X1 games that have been shown but I don't think it's really all that close to the Order. Then again with all of the stop and go it's kind of hard to tell, it's got a unique style which is cool but the models don't hold up to what's seen in the Order IMO nor does the environment. Again I'm not saying it looks bad because it obviously doesn't, it's a great looking game.

PS4 and X1. If PS4 wasn't tapped out, we'd see more 1080p/60fps mutliplats. And don't even think about shouting "parity"!

Have to disagree, wayyyy to early in this gen. Hopefully by gen 3 games we will. I agree with Frozpot that time with the consoles will bring better results.

It's tough to compare The Order and Quantum Break tit for tat though, they are two different styles of game. I think they are both currently the best looking at what they do.

You do know both The Order and Quantum Break are 1st gen games right as is Ryse,UC 4 and ISS...
Imagine what these devs will do when they get more familiar with the Hardwares.

With an x86 APU and an AMD 7 series gpu, what's there to get familiar with? Lol

You see 3 different types of materials. 2 different kinds of bricks, window seals, and the windows. The window seals aren't made of concrete and yet they respond to the light the exact same as the bricks do. If the game utilized PBR here (not saying they didn't for other assets), you'd tell the difference.
In all these Infamous pics people have posted, I see a main character who I didn't know is a vampire 90% of the time. No matter what lighting conditions are, he casts no shadows most of the time. lol

Let's take you up on that bet. We are now in Year 2 of the next-gen consoles. There is only ONE game out of all the ones we've seen that stands out to be superior to last year's gem.. The Order 1886. And even that isn't looking significantly better than Ryse. All the other games coming out at year's end from what we've seen don't even compare to Order graphically.
Uncharted 4?

Well DC does looks better from these scenes. To be fair, FH2 is a cross gen game, open world & running on weaker hardware. Interested to see the next full (maybe) next gen FH3.

But credit where credit is due.

That was only a joke pic :p don't know where it was taken in the game but it cracked me up.

Still waiting for console games to approach this IN GAME without visual cutbacks. Until then well yeah....

Don't get me wrong as I have a PS4 and there are games that look amazing for console level games, but PC will always have it trumped. Crysis 3 at 4k looks like a painting. No console game I've seen can match that. None.

Absolutely.

Microsoft's PC platform really has all others beat quite easily with regards to visuals. X1 and PS4 can't compete.

When people say things like "PC will always have it trumped" I think they need to sit back for a second and think about that statement. How many people have high end PC's for gaming? I know my 5 year old PC couldn't do what the PS4 can, I think the statement should be "PC always have the potential to trump consoles" and not just some blanket statement as if PC's are a fixed platform because they are not.

Not entirely disagreeing with this, but at the same time at least in this current generation you don't need a high end PC to trump these consoles. Going off of raw GPU power and overall system performance a mid-range PC can best what the PS4/XB1 can put out easily.
Console players need to understand this. The only thing that blurs their vision is the fact that console game makers have the advantage of a fixed platform where there aren't thousands of configurations to think about. Hence readily exploitable visual niceties.
Make no mistake. A multiplatform game will ALWAYS run better on a PC with mid-range specs compared to the PS4/XB1. In that same vein a PS4/XB1 game made solely for that system will never see the light of day on a PC, but by using common sense that mid-range spec'd PC would run that PS4/Xb1 exclusive better than the PS4/Xb1 could.

Living Tribunal... just casually dropping bombs.

....and lets throw in the PC version of Project Cars on ultra...

Looks on par with DC photomode. ;)

Can I get some screens of gameplay/photomode during a race at native res instead of compressed?

check this out. I just resized the DC shots to the same res and they look very similar to the Project Cars shots. If noone said anything I'm sure people would've thought they were the same game. That's why I want to see full 1920x1080 shots to test this hypothesis.

i think those are deceptive. I just played DC at Best Buy (it was the full version, though I didn't see any weather unfortunately). There are some darn ugly things going on in DC that I didn't expect. I thought the lighting was great (looks a lot like the lighting in AC Unity), but I didn't come away terribly impressed with the visuals as I was expecting. It was doing some nice things, but I can't bring myself to call it the best looking racer anymore.

I found it interesting that they had Forza 5 running (demo Prague level), and even though I think DC has a better lighting solution as well as nicer foliage, I found myself being more impressed with F5. I kept going back and forth( probably to some raised eyebrows from the employees) and was honestly shocked that I preferred Forza's visuals.

You think this looks better than DC?

track detail is unmatched IMHO.

I can tell pretty easily which game is DC and which is Project Cars just from a visual standpoint. Both games look great though. As does FH.
