NX: Nintendo's new next gen hardware

They better not be serious with that controller. They almost had it right with the GameCube controller and then the wheels came off. I don't know what's so hard about just making a normal controller. Bring back the Wii U Pro controller even.

Why can't this guy post an actual video of the thing running? A single picture can always be photoshopped to look real.

Well, he or she would need to host that somewhere and I imagine a fake YouTube/Vimeo/what's the other one called account would be needed or they would have to send it to someone else (they trust) to post. They need to cover their tracks real good and the more you leak, the more you give away, the more the crazy internet investigators piece together, the greater chance of being identified and potentially losing your job.

I wouldn't risk a video leak. Hell, people are trying to find the exact window of the exact room of the building the pictures were taken from a REFLECTION of a TREE in the so-called photo leaks.

Then again this person may have already provided the world enough rope to be hanged with.

Or there is no video because it is simply a very convincing fake.

Gematsu:

The user who posted the images (whose keyboard, incidentally, indicates that this leak comes from Sweden) also posts the following notes:
Only the upper protrusions move the sticks. The bottom is static (something like a circle pad, but it moves along the bottom as if it were a "sphere".
Casters at the top give the feeling of scroll wheel of a mouse. Although the author of the images does not think * this is the final design. "
Haptic feedback taptic feels like Apple technology. No strong vibrations.
It has a headphone jack 3.5 mm at the bottom.
The user added that "this is the control unit for. Dev-kit console, so it is not the final design." In a tweet, the editor of Game Informer, Andy McNamara says this; "I had heard that the NX not have buttons on the front, so that filtered images match what they told me, but I can not confirm them." tweet Leaking image fits with other previous filtration Destructoid, whose images showed the same controller, but blank. Both agree with a patent filed by Nintendo in June last year for a new type of control

Legit Nintendo controller or not, it certainly looks like a real piece of Kit. Ergonomic or not, it still looks like a real thing.

So if that thing is the controller, the NX can't be cheap. I didn't think Nintendo would go down that path again.

Then again, maybe it's not what I think it is.

Makes sense it was fake. It never made any sense why they didn't release a video demoing it.

LOL. 3D printed controller with plastic parts glued on and spray painted black. Good job though.

A controller like would never fly nowadays.... solely based on the ergonomics. It's too slender at the ends making it hard to hold. Game pads have had elongated ends to contour into your palms since the PS1 days.

Thats kinda far for a fake. Nintendo's silence is ridiculous. Especially if they are releasing this year.

3D printing has upped the hoax stakes.

It will be funny if Nintendo unveils the NX and it is the most conservatively designed 'back to basics' console and controller.

No offense to your friend. But someone on Reddit claiming to be a dev is far from a sure thing.

But what he says makes sense.
