Official Project Cars 2 Thread

Hmmm...not sure where all this erratic A.I is. So far they seem better than in PC1, less aggressive with the divebombing and just more aware of you in general.

Gamepad inputs out the box seem perfectly playable in dry weather...I did change steering deadzone to 0 and throttle DZ to 50.

Gamepad default was horrible in wet weather, car felt twitchy as hell and wasn't much fun. Will have to test to see if it can be rectified.

Wet weather seems off though, any race with obvious surface water feels like the car is in aconstant hydroplane state.

I'm also worried about the online health of the game, checked twice today and only 30-40 people were in online races.

Is the campaign anything worthy? Is there a lot of rain/snow required to complete the campaign? I personally am not a fan of rain, but I will deal with it. Snow on the other hand, I don't want to have anything to do with it.

Am only just finishing up my first season of GT5, so I don't lnow.

The campaign seems to be the same thing as PC1.

One race in and I couldn't even steer a car. Spent the game against the wall.

Really? I found the out of box settings to be very playable. What did you race in? and how much of that is down to you trying to race the Forza way? Cause trying to play it like Forza will get you nowhere.

I have made tweaks to controller settings, though....

All Deadzones = 0
Steering sensitivity =17-25
Throttle sensitivity = 10
Brake sensitivity = 10
Controller dampening = 75
Speed Sensitivity = 100

I have assists set to Authetic. And manual transmission with auto clutch.

I will reply when I get to my computer. But yes I am driving just like I do in Forza/GT Sport.

I've seen your gameplay vids, so I'm going to assume that's when you're drunk, blindfolded and whilst being waterboarded?

:p
That wasn't gameplay, that was when I was at the strip club.

Yeah! You need to get out the Forza mikndset. In Forza you can just throw cars into corners without issue. In Pcars you need to be wary of speed, weight transfer, turn in, and track surface(bumps). If you doing manual gears then you need to watch your downshifting, doing it too early will yield an unwelcome outcome.

Ok, I just now went and changed my settings to match yours. Yes, I am trying to drive like Forza/GT Sport. I started with Ginetta Juniors UK Championship. I think it is the Ginetta GT5.

I see there are some car setup videos for this car too I should probably look at. One says for dry, and it talks about adjusting/fine tuning camber, etc.

I am going to be doing automatic.

Thank you for those settings too. I am going to try my first race over again, which I never finished because I was so frustrated. My wife was watching me, laughing. :(

I was watching your videos above. I do notice that your car is "twitchy" in corners at times, which is how it feels to me, though I just spin around :)

Ok so I added your settings. I tried the race again and I was in last but I did much better. Everything is much more sensitive than it is in Forza. In Forza I slam on the brakes, slam on the gas, dive like a mad man into corners and come out unscathed. In PC2 you would be f***ed doing the same.

I left that race as a loss. Now on to race 2 I turned on practice and qualify. Huge help. I find the practice helps huge. And now I qualified first for this next race :)

But it's still really touchy!

Give this a try.

Steering sensitivity = 10
controller damping = 85.

So how does this game stack up to the other two big racing series?
I assume you mean Forza and GT, So...This game is a proper sim and not simcade like the other two, and thus they aren't really comparable.

The track selection is awesome. The racing disciplines are varied and awesome. The options with weather, time of day, seasons are awesome.

It lacks the graphical polish of those other two.

Overall I am enjoying career far more in PC2 than I did in Forza 7.

This was my second attempt at the first race where I still came in last, but you can see how I struggled:

I saw this for $25 on Amazon but passed on it. Seems like the kind of game you need a very good wheel for unless you have super thumbs. I couldn't even hold a go cart straight in the first game.

To me it looks like you're struggling because of you, i.e: bad lines, too much braking, too fast, etc. Which is fine, I had the same problem.

Not sure why pravus hasn't been posting here since he has the game!

Nah, I was just goofing around in the new demo. It's a great looking and playing game, I might pick it up when it's a bit cheaper as I have waaaay too many games to sift through at the moment.

I played the demo. Definitely a tough game to master with a controller. With a high end wheel I think it would be great, but with a controller I think I'll stick to Forza and GTS.

It takes some finessing, as well as adjustment in the game to controller settings, as well as car adjustments to get it to feel SOMEWHAT similar to Forza/GT. But it it probably will never match. This is a challenge.

Funnything is when I play F7 after PC2 it feels twitchy as f***.
