Paris Games Week - Playstation Media Showcase (Oct. 30)

Apparently this was announced at the show, but I missed it.

Oure. It's available now. $20.

"Announced at the end of today’s PlayStation Paris Games Week pre-show, Oure — pronounced oh-ray — is a new PS4 indie title developed by Heavy Spectrum Limited, the studio behind last year’s Shadow of the Beast remaster. What’s more, this new title is available ... today, on the PlayStation Store. It’s on sale there for $20 right now."

Here's the game description: "Take flight in a dream-like cloudscape as you seek to reawaken the relics of a lost civilization. As a unique child born with the powers of the ancient dragons, your parents cast you from the stricken surface into the land above the skies. There you must use the abilities of both your human and dragon forms to amass magical power, solve strange mysteries and seek out the enigmatic 'Titans' that can revive the world."

I think I'll get it. Sounds like my kind of game.

It looks pretty cool to me. Let me know your impressions if you get it. I might get it too.

It's good so far. It's easy. It's got a bit of a "kiddie" tone to it. Maybe that's just the narrator (who's a boy), I don't know.

Yeah all that single player content sucks huh? lol Man these things take time to make, they do need to stop announcing things 3 years out but God Of War and Spider-Man were announced in 2015 and they'll be out before the next E3.

IMO it's silly to show the same games at the past 5+ game shows... I also didn't see all that many single player high end games. I mostly saw generic, or weak looking games

You didn't see high-end SP games?

- God of War
- Last of Us
- Horizon
- Spider-man
- the new Sucker Punch IP
- Detroit

Your opinion lacks credibility.

I said I didn't see many... You think 6 games is many? Hell, 5 out of those we've already knew about, and have seen numerous times

BTW... DLC is not a seperate game, so only 5 games

Here's that Detroit trailer. It piqued my interest in the game.

And God of War.

Onrush was announced. It's from ex-Evolution studio devs. It's multiplatform, appearing on Xbox as well.

Arcade racer, for sure. Spiritual successor to Motorstorm? Who knows.

Didn't get to watch because of stupid work getting in the way. Just checked out the Ghost of Tsushima and holy balls give it to me now.

It's from the guys who worked on Motorstorm.

There are a lot of Motorstorm fans in the Resetera thread pumped about this. Return of Motorstorm.

I never got into the Motorstorm games myself, but it would be nice to have a good arcade racer.

That's the kind of game Sony should have had them work on for the PS4... I know it would have had more money/support behind it, and would have looked far better

What a shame, and big mistake by Sony

You sure are a wet blanket. So negative.

Of the new game announcements, only Ghost Of Tsushima caught my attention. The rest of the stuff seemed to be just updates from E3 stuff, which is ok, but I guess I was expecting more. I also have zero interest in anything VR.

So the new game announcements were 4 VR and 3 PS4. The latter were the Sucker Punch IP, Oure, and the other indie (Concrete something). Good to see the new Sucker Punch game, but I was hoping for more new (non-VR) game announcements. I am interested in both the indies they announced, so that's good. And Onrush was a nice surprise. That's new, though not exclusive.

I was thinking that jumping trick shot looked familiar. Very cool.

That guy has an excellent eye for setting up great looking action scenes; I'm honestly surprised he doesn't get paid to do this for a lot of games.

He said, when he was in the studio, it was funny to hear Herman shout "Legend!" every time he saw him.

It was a 45 minute main show and it's the second major show of the year, how many new games did you expect to see?

Detroit really has my attention, I used to hate these point and click type of games but after playing Until Dawn I've softened my stance a bit and will give this game a shot, Until Dawn was great.

God of War looks amazing as always, crazy how little we've actually seen of the game even though it was announced a year and a half ago.

I think Sony deserves credit for allowing another of their major studios to move on to a new IP instead of making them just do the same thing over and over again. GG got to do Horizon ZD and now Sucker Punch is moving on from Infamous for an ambitious project that's totally different.

Just got to watch all the videos on my computer instead of my phone.

The Last of Us is a huge upgrade over uncharted PS4, the faces are still sort of weird.

Detroit looks cool. It's not something I would probably buy unless its really deep and has good replay.

God of War just isn't impressive to me. It looks great, but that's where it ends. The gameplay looks extremely unoriginal and boring, dumb AI and Last of Us clone(storytelling strategy, 3rd person emotional tone) it just doesn't fit for me.

Horizon DLC looks great.

I am very interested in the Sucker Punch game. Given my history of (almost, The Witcher 3 being the exception) never buying expansions, I doubt I'll bother with Horizon.

TLOU 2 looks amazing, though I'd still rather have a bit more "Hollywood" looking characters. I see ugly in real life all the time ;)

Detroit is already giving me WTF vibes. Like, How does a dirt poor, abusive single father afford a friggin' android?

I've loved the Dad of War stuff before, but the snippet shown did nothing for me.

It's a trippy little game. You are a dragon, flying around. The movement feels pretty good. The camera gets confused sometimes, with all the different angles.

I like it. Nice visuals. Gameplay is engaging, though simple. Atmosphere is sort of like Journey or Abzu. It's pretty relaxing.

I beat the first colossus. I'm probably :45 in or so.

This show was basically an echo of the last couple of years. Last of Us II, GoW and Ghost looked brill!

I'm glad Sony is playing to their strengths. Makes Microsoft get their asses on the ball and drop some new Ip's.

Not a bad show though.

Meh. Maybe I’m just turning into grumpy old man. Sony’s conferences annoy me for the opposite reason of Microsoft’s conferences (lately). Their games appear at too many shows and the initial trailers don’t say much about the game or story. Then by the time they release, I have a bit of fatigue. Sucker Punch is a good developer and therefore there’s a good chance the game is good but I don’t see how that trailer has people worked up with excitement the way the internet is. Last of Us 2 is a day 1 purchase but that snippet did nothing. I think if Sony crapped in a box and said it was the spiritual successor to Conker, the internet and game sites would go wild.

They have too many conferences now. They should cut out either PSX or PGW.

Well... I want Sucker Punch's new game, and the other big games we already knew about from Sony

That's it. smh

I'm getting tired of these shows showing mostly the same big budget games over & over again for the past 3 years

Is DREAMS dead? lol

In February it will have been 5 years since it's debut. It predates the unveiling of the PS4 fat.
The beta was due in 2016.
I'm confident the game will release before 2021 and the studio will be dissolved or sold thereafter.
