Got the Crotas End titan raid helmet this morning. I have a complete set of raid armor for one of my titans now. With the Frostfire shader he looks like some kind of hellspawn or demon. Got another chest piece too. It has different ammo perks than my other raid chest piece. Neither of them have the ammo perks for the weapon types I use though. Im not going to use my Radiant Shards til I get what I need.
Went through the Nightfall with two of my characters. Got another Suros Regime. I had been wanting another one.

Played through Crotas End last night with a group of 6 from the LFG fight. 4 of us unfortunately were first timers. We made it through the first 3 parts with some struggle but couldn't get past the final boss. We just couldn't do enough damage to his shields and get in sync with each other. 5 of us were level 31s too.
Any recommendations on what to use against his shields?

I’ve only completed the Crota raid three times now so I’m by no means an expert. But its easy to take down Crota’s shield using nothing but primary weapons so long as most of the team is in synch firing away at him together. That’s when trying to take down his shield the first time. Some teams like to go for a quick second strike after he gets up and waits for his invincibility to wear off and then use heavy weapons to quickly take his shield down again. You’ll know when his invincibility wears off after getting up when you see the orange glow that surrounds him disappear. Its all about timing and team synchronization.
I got the hunger for Grota Launcher last night from the Raid. Its tracks and has cluster bombs so I can't wait to level it up and unlock its perks.
2 rockets with tracking, 1 guy with LMG with constant fire and 2 snipers with the boomers, 1 guy with sword.
Ok thank you. I think out problem was we were trying to use heavys too much and were getting ourselves killed trying to find ammo.
So do you recommend a Scout Rifle or AR?
By LMG you mean a rapid fire AR like Atheons Epilogue or a Machine Gun under heavies?
I use the Confluence scout rifle for the Crota raid and its served me well. I combo that with Icebreaker and a good heavy weapon. I’m usually on Boomer-Knight duty trying to make sure they don’t down anyone. I hate the oversoul thingy. Also, stock up on ammo synthesis if you can because the raid is not the place you want to try and do a ammo run, especially during the Crota fight.
I’ve done all my raiding for the week. But I’m willing to help anyone with their raid if needed. I’m on PS4 so send me a message when I’m on. Of course, I don’t have all the super weapons that Mangoes has so I may not be as helpful but I can still kill a thing or two.

My worry is that you only get ammo synthesis every 5 minutes. So even with the leg armor, at 2 per shield, I'll be out of ammo quickly.
Or do you shoot 1 and then switch to primary?
Update: Got a group of 5 together and we quickly cheesed the end boss. It seems like Bungie increased the chances of getting Raid armor/weapons though, which is nice. I got the Rocket Launcher and Leg Armor in one try. Both seem quite good.

I’m at the point where I’m doing weekly strikes/nightfalls, raiding and bounties for my two characters. So I think I have time to go back to working on that Hunter I started a while back that is only at low lvl6. But it shouldn’t take me too long to get it leveled up. I have some hunter armor stored in the vault that I want to finally see what it looks like.
I think I can do one tonight. Nightfall can wait for my alt character, I really want another crack at getting some of the loot that I still want. Namely Fatebringer & Vex rifle. But if you're doing Crota I'm cool with that too since I need the Titan armor and some of the weapons like Black Hammer.
This game really has its hooks into me. Last night I was beat after a long day at work. And yet I still logged on to complete a couple of bounties. Ohh yeah, we need more vault storage space. Its getting to the point where I'll have to make some hard choices on what to keep and what to crush. I guess I can use inventory space from a alternate character.

I don’t mind transferring loot between characters. But it would be nice for Bungie to increase vault space as an added convenience. So far the best convenient feature to stave off frustration and boredom was adding in the ability to purchase upgrade materials.
Xur better sell rocket launcher telemetries this week. I need more to upgrade my shiny new G-Horn. Ohhh and, hopefully he’s selling an upgraded Thorn pistol. I like it again in PvE even though I still think it needs a ammo increase.
I did a Crota raid with my titan last night, got the boots and gauntlets and another crota rocket launcher. If anyone is up to it I still need to do one more crota raid and two VoG raids.
I hope Bungie adds some content to the crota raid when they release hard difficulty. I know I've complained about the length of the VoG raid which goes on for too long. But the crota raid is really short and I feel needs another area with some secret chests.

The Raid crew wasn’t the only team readying tweaks heading into and out of the holiday season. Our Crucible designers have a few things in the works to add some spice to the early goings of 2015.

Crota’s End – Updates
- The existing Pit treasure chest reward moved to killing Ir Yut, the Deathsinger. She has a chance to drop Exotic weapons and armor, class pieces, and Radiant materials.
- The Pit treasure chest will now contain Radiant Materials.
Pit Encounter
- Removed the physics impulse caused by exploding lanterns.
Bridge Encounter
- Players will now be required to cross the bridge in order to complete the bridge encounter.
- Players will now be required to wait for the bridge to be completed prior to crossing with the sword.
Deathsinger Encounter
- Fixed a rare case where the Shriekers would not spawn, preventing players from reaching the Deathsinger.
Crota Encounter
- Two Swordbearers will no longer spawn at the same time at the outset of the encounter.
- Crota will now recover from his kneeling state after a player quits.
- Fixed a bug that allowed players to remove the “Presence of Crota” using a Radiance Warlock’s Fireborn ability.
- Fixed a bug that made the Oversoul appear destroyed to some players in a Fireteam when it was actually still active.
Vault of Glass – Updates
- Exotic weapon drops in the Vault of Glass are now Level 32.
Getting Swole in the Crucible
The Raid crew wasn’t the only team readying tweaks heading into and out of the holiday season. Our Crucible designers have a few things in the works to add some spice to the early goings of 2015.
- Asylum, The Anomaly, and The Burning Shrine maps will be added to existing Clash and Control playlist rotation.
- Iron Banner will return, with updated rewards, running from January 13th through January 19th.
We were just saying last night that Deathsinger needed a loot drop. I’m happy to see Bungie agree. I think the Deathsinger battle is tougher than the actual Crota fight. And I’m cool with the removal of exploits from the Crota raid.
I hope the Iron Banner is selling the chest and helmet pieces to complete the set for my Warlock. It would be cool to be able to get some armor for my Titan as well.

I wonder why Bungie won’t update the legendary weapons from the VoG raid. I would like a 331 Confluence rifle, this scout rifle has been my go-to rifle every since I got it. I use other weapons but go to it a lot during the most difficult of enemy encounters.
