Official Thread Star Wars Battlefront 2

Yup do you play current FPS games?
Playing Destiny 2. Didn't have to spend 40 hours to unlock a sub class for my character. By the time I beat the main game I had a good load out to compete in multiplayer as well.

What are the good MODERN FPS games plz do tell.

Overwatch: All characters unlocked from the start

Rainbow Six Siege is comparable with having to unlock characters but it doesn't take 40 f***ing hours to unlock any of the original ones

Nothing in Battlefield or Cod take 40 hours either to unlock something good . 40 hours to unlock something is little excessive imo . True story , it took me over 300 hours in destiny 1 to finally get then Gjallarhorn. I was the last person out of every I knew to finally get it. Lol.

Switched my view again. Credit gain is abysmal. EA is the devil. No defending their methods or the games current set up.

Still buying because I'm worse than the devil.

But certainly, my earlier posts saying "maybe lighten up" about the nickel and diming are completely off base and now irrelevant. Community managers getting prissy towards the fans, reddit posts saying "We wanted to create a sense of pride and accomplishment" via grinding 40 hours, and the creative director writing a short essay saying "sorry we're working on it, probably" definitely makes this whole thing is, yet again, a total mess.

I'm curious as to what the single player dlc entails. Some sites are saying its complementary to the campaign while others are saying its final piece of the game’s campaign.

I don't what it is but the the trial I downloaded and played on Friday feels completely different to the beta that I played a few months back. I just didn't like this it at all and I can't figure out what it is that has changed (if anything). I've gone the full spectrum with this - not being interested in it, then playing the beta and loving it and considering buying it, then playing the trail and not liking it all, and back to not buying it.

I got you beat there. I got the Gally 3 days before they nerfed it. in fact I got it three times over the course of that weekend, and then the following Friday, Xur sold it! I think I had nearly 700 hours in the game at that point.

So good on the X but already bought the ps4 version...
Who getting it on X if i double dip.

Oh Atmos needs to be added its on the PC version....
Either double dip or wait for the free EA vault version next year for X. I double dipped for the original, mainly for the VR mission, but only after it was pretty cheap.

The missing Atmos thing is very puzzling. It's not in the trial version on X. Even the last Battlefront game had it on PC. Now we have a console that clearly supports Atmos, yet EA seems to ignore it. WTF? They probably won't patch it in just like they won't patch Battlefield 1 at all. :really: I love Star Wars and Battlefront II sure is pretty, but I'm really kind of feeling like EA just doesn't give a sh!t about anything except making money. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Out of the games I play COD 4 Modern Warfare, COD WW2, , Battlefield 1, RS Siege, Titanfall 2, Battlefield Hardline, to name a few.

This is ridiculous.

I bought COD WW2 this weekend and the level 1 guns you start with are an absolute joke. They spray bullets all over and you are at a massive disadvantage to someone who's even played a few hours.

Think this is just the "rage of the week". People should vote with their wallets if they feel that strongly about it. Based on beta and EA Access pre release I'm not worried about balance or pay to win. I'm guessing what hero you pick really doesn't matter, and they seem to have toned them way down from BF1 where they were basically walking tanks. In BF1 everyone ran from the heroes, but in BF2 I think they'll turn into targets with everyone focusing on them (kind of like actual tanks in BF3-4).

BF1 had lots of double XP weekends and the "40 hours" estimate doesn't include any challenges, which is more than a little deceiving.

The funny thing about loot boxes is you can completely stop them... just ignore them.

I don't think anyone thinks this specifically is pay to win but its clearly a bulls*** move and its one most people will never see coming after the beta or the previous game.

People should know what they are buying, and I think they will.

The old hero system in BF1 was terrible. It was one of the many reasons people hated the game.

Heroes in BF2 have been nerfed very hard. I don't think it is going to be a huge deal to be Rey or someone else instead of Luke for the couple weeks it takes to unlock Vader.

As I said, people offended by it can vote with their wallets. I'm not seeing a reason to cancel my preorder.

This feels pretty "drama-gate" ish. BF1 had tons of stuff hidden behind a progression system.

EA makes Reddit history by having the most downvoted comment on Reddit with its response to customer complaint about having Darth Vader locked after spending $80 on full game.

The screenshot was taken about 10 hours ago and it's currently at 269328 downvotes. Heres a link to the full thread. EA getting their asses torn up over this.

This is far from drama gate. Drama was when Shadow of War got picked on for barely having any lootboxes. BF2 not only has lootbox but you need to buy heroes as well as they get their abilities in loot boxes. This is a legitimate complaint this time.

I had to play Final Fantasy VII for 83 hours before I could breed a Gold Chocobo to get Knights of the Round materia.

It seperated the men from the boys.

Jut cos you buy a game don't entitle you to all the content at minute 1.

Feel free to have whatever opinion you want but you don't need to buy anything. BF1 had many of the best guns hidden behind a long progression system. (along with most of the Battlefield games). Don't mean to offend the angry masses, but how is this a new thing?

It's not a new thing. Its the facf that EA is blatantly getting worse with their greed even AFTER they said their monetization and progression system would change after the BF2 beta criticism. Their complete disregard for their fanbase's feedback is a complete middle finger.

I'm not buying. I was going too but after the trial, nope. I'm not angry or offended either so I don't know you're going there. The BF1 comparison is close enough but i don't think its the same to be honest. Maxing your rank/class to get a gun isn't quite the same as what they did in BF2. To buy a star wars game that has lootboxs and then also have to pay to unlock Darth Vader is simply awful.
