I'm a Cavaliers fan, not a "LeBron fan." I root for players that play for Cleveland. Thus you won't find me defending all the s*** he said when he moved to the Heat, not for one second. It was silly and I berated him for it when it happened, so what are you trying to prove?
That said, Duran'ts move is far, far more bitch made and I can't believe I even have to point out why. Durant was up 3-1 on the Warriors, played a part in his team blowing the lead and then decided to jump ship and go join that team which won a title without him. LeBron left a team with zero future that couldn't even get to the Conference Finals, and joined another mediocre team in order to push it over the hump. The situations are vastly different. Did he say and do some dumb s***? Yes, and he took the necessary flak for it at the time.
The league isn't designed to let a 73 win team add another MVP to their roster. Extenuating cap circumstances and the fact that Curry's ankles are suddenly magically healthy played a part in them putting together this team. Do you think Curry would be making $12 million a year if his ankles had been fine his whole career? Not that I blame the Warriors one bit, but I do blame Durant. "Rotting away?" He was on a championship caliber team in OKC, what are you talking about?
Didn't the Cavs beat the Warriors 3 times with Dray on the court? Twice were blowouts. Yeah, it felt miraculous because they came back from down 3-1, but trying to discredit the win is hilarious.
Durant is a little bitch who couldn't do it himself just like Le Queen's trip to Miami.
He didn't even have to do it "himself." He had Westbrook. I mean, come on.
Who did LeBron have his first go around in Cleveland? It's why I wasn't that mad that he left, I was more mad he chose to embarrass us on his way out. But I always thought he might come back if the Cavs accrued draft picks and assets like they did; the inept front office almost blew that plan, and would have blown it if not for an inane stretch of #1 lotto picks. And he did come back and led the team to a title as the man.
Who are all these stars that are winning titles as the only All Star on their team? They don't exist. Nobody should be ripping a player for leaving a decrepit team to team up with another player or two. Leaving a Finals-caliber team to go join the best team of all time, however, is pretty absurd. Durant wanted that easy path. For better or worse. Everyone is gonna have an opinion on it.

East is still just as bad in that scenario so who says they don't make meaningful free agency move and eventually get one?

Their cap was stacked already much like this current Cavs team. And their asset cupboard was bare. And the roster...wasn't very good.
He left to join another two All Stars. The Miami Heat were a mediocre team at the time. Durant left to join a title-winning team he had been up on 3-1 in the conference finals. If you don't see the difference, well...
Durant didn't leave to form a super team. He left to JOIN an already established super team and turn it into a mega team. Oh, and the team he almost beat in the playoffs.
One of those all stars had won a title.
Lebron could have joined the Bulls like Durant could have joined the Celtics. I can't buy into the idea that we should fault Durant because his super team is better
Wade winning a title 4 years prior has no relevance to that. The Miami Heat were not that team anymore.

I guess we have different opinions, but for me, if you're a competitor, joining the team you just blew a 3-1 lead is ridiculous.
Durant could have definitely won if he stayed in OKC. LeBron couldn't win if he stayed in Cleveland.

It's just the NBA we live in today. These super stars want to sit out games to rest and join forces to win. This is why they catch so much heat from the all time greats. You think some of the all time greats would have joined forces in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's....
I understand why LeBron and KD did it they made the decision that was best for them, but they do deserve the criticism for the choice they made.

Yeah, pretty much how I feel. It's the era of the superteam, just the climate we're in.
Well this post season sucked. Golden State a beast and nice to KD playing great and getting that ring. I've liked him since the UT days, even though I do not agree with him leaving OKC they were so close to winning. I think they could have pulled it off eventually.
And Kayrie really f***ed them at the end after that KD dagger just dribbling the clock out and jacking a ugly shot. They blew this game.

You think so? With Lebron stacking teams and the Warriors and Spurs being an uphill battle in the west? The writing was on the wall for Durant. Glad he moved on and got his ring. Dude is way too talented to waste away in his prime.
They blew it against the Warriors and should have won that series. I think they had a great shot against the Cavs. KD took the easy way out I understand why he did, I still don't like it.
I think the Warriors blew it giving them a 3-1 lead. 73 win team, running out of gas. Klay had to bail them out in game 6. Just think it's funny that if Warriors took care of business against Thunder and didn't go down 3-1 and Lebron didn't get Draymond suspended in the Finals it's a different convo.
So basically if Thunder beat Warriors, went on the lose Finals, and then Durant jumped ship to Golden State it would be okay? No, people would still give him s*** for joining a 73 win team. You can't win. The fact that KD don't give a s*** and wants his rings tells me he's an alpha. A shell of a man would just stay in OKC, rot away, and continue to collect a paycheck.
Part of it is our fault. All we care about are rings. If a player doesn't have 6 rings he's a "scrub." Silly. So in that sense I almost don't blame Durant for panicking after 10 years with no rings and then piggybacking on the Warriors to easy championships.
But the cold hard truth is I haven't learned anything I didn't already know about Durant when they win these Finals. It's not like we're all going to wake up and say, "Boy, Durant finally found what it takes to win!" No. He joined a team that won without him. *shrug* He hasn't proven anything. I already knew he was a beast player, and he's playing like an animal in these Finals surrounded by another MVP and two other All NBA players.
Like I said though it's almost the fault of the media and fans with this obsession with racking up titles. if Durant never won a ring, or only won one, we'd all call him a failure. Thus he felt he needed to make this move. So, good for him in that sense, but if people are thinking the NBA is going to be "fun" to watch the next few years, lol.
The f*** has LeBron done that? Get outta here. Besides, the truth is he does need more help. They have a great team that could beat anyone in the league...except problem is there's a team that is even better than them, perhaps the greatest team of all time. The Cavs will try to improve, as they should, because they aren't good enough. Right now it's Warriors.........Cavs/Spurs.........................................................everyone else. Enjoy.
