Which 4K HDR TV are you planning to buy for Scorpio or One s?

Such a tough decision between the Vizio XLED and the TCL. $500 difference for 10" more. TCL is better performing, Vizio is bigger and about 80% of the TCL. Decisions, decisions.....
I can't speak on the Vizio but I have the TCL and it was easily worth the 600 I spent. Great value for the money and I think the picture is amazing.

I don't think you will be disappointed.
If I want to upgrade in a couple of years, I won't feel bad for investing $1500+. Spend half and keep my options open and get a great TV to boot. Now, I hope I get a good one as a few people have had an issue.

Yeah I've heard some people get lemons. Hope you get a good one.

That's a real good strategy actually. I assume if you get a lemon, you'd be able to exchange it. Even an extended warranty shouldn't be that pricey on a TV that cost that much.

Well I bit the bullet today and got myself a TV. With the recent price cuts to the Samsung Q line I went with the Samsung QN55Q7F. Got a really smoking deal on it and 5 years warranty. I will let you know impressions of it the more I get to use it!

I ended up getting the TCL P605, as I mentioned earlier in the thread. Got it Monday, calibrated it yesterday. The TV is amazing. The upscaling of a 1080p signal is simply astounding. Xbox One looks like it's a 4k source with how great it is upscaling. I've run it though the ringers with 4k content from Netflix and YouTube. Netflix's 4k seems to be poorly compressed as the details with their 4k are not as crisp as one would hope. YouTube 4k, like Spider-Man PS4, amazing. The only downside is that it's only available as a 55" TV. Next year they will probably make a 65". Because the TV is, comparatively, dirt cheap at $600, and it performs better than TVs that are $2000+, it will make upgrading less of an issue because that price point is so low. It leaves a LOT of options open, and the TV is simply amazing, that upgrading for years, if I choose, is a realty. The TV, in these first two days, has blown me away that much. Anybody looking for a 55", don't look anywhere else. Hell, anybody looking for 65", look at the TCL also.

Really happy with my Panasonic and can already see a difference playing on it so really looking forward to November now.

Good to know. I had wanted to get the step down model as a computer monitor as the p605 is to big for my desk.

Nice! Thanks for the feedback. If I was looking for a 55", I think taking a chance on this tv would be easy. For that price, there's not a lot of risk.

You will not be disappointed. As a tech head, I can easily say this is one of the best decisions I made, not spending $1000 plus on a TV just because. Bomb deal for $600.

I spend more on TVs because I want the best picture quality, inky blacks and great off axis viewing. To each his own.

Plainview you talked me into it. TCL for now. I do want an amazing 65" tv but will wait until OLEDs come down in price for those. For 600, will move the TCL into my bedroom when the OLED time comes. Not going to have buyers remorse over $600.

think im going to wait it out til tv's have freesync. Hopefully 2018 models will support it.

I'm going to wait till CES and see what the 2018 sets look like vs what deals the 2017 are offered at. My tax return is pretty much financing it even though I can go it Best Buy right now and walkout with one. I plan on picking up Scorpio within the launch window just to breakup the costs a bit. That TCL set looks right up my alley though.
