Consider how Microsoft is marketing the Xbox One. Its marketed as a console for everyone not just gamers. The Kinect and utilization of it is going to be a game changer next generation because it works the way its supposed to and it shows in real time, the features AND benefits of having that in place. Skype is also another feature many can associate with. Marketing is all about finding the pulse of the consumer--what people like and what's trending. The Xbox One has nearly every popular feature and app built in from the gate. You bring all of these popular features together in one box, plus make them user friendly and you've got a recipe for success. Thats a pulse that not only includes gamers, but non gamers to boot. NFL is also going to make a big splash next generation too. There are so many sports fans out there into the fantasy leagues its unreal. The Xbox One is set to hit so many levels of potential profit avenues its not even funny mate.
Sony will cater to the pure gamers and do quite well at doing just that. But unless they broaden their horizons they'll fall behind (its already begun in many ways but can be remedied in time) s*** is about to get real here, very soon.
Then it needs to come out at a everyone price.
