Interesting, seems most of the impressions today are predominantly MP..? Guess Feb 5 will show more SP.

Seems like they had about 3 hours of single player there. IMO if it's closer to Crackdown 1 single player / coop, I"m definitely going to be having a blast with it.

Seems like multiplayer modes are a little bare bones out of the gate though

Kinda looking like it's going to be less of a boom and more so a pop. Basically, something to jump into if
you want to blow stuff up for a bit.

DRM ...really? I hope you aren't supporting gaming at all then. Lol.

And the difference between Gamepass and a buying digital game is what exactly? Oh yeah, nothing.
You don't pay you don't play simple really.

Yeah, f*** all y'all watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix, if you ain't buying the episodes on DVD via Amazon you're not a real fan.

I like the design of the world, but it still looks empty. Will def play it though because of game pass.

I think to get a better view point of the game, you have to actually play it. There's a stark difference between watching a game and playing it. Looks like Crackdown to me though. MP looks crazy AF with all that destruction. I'm in!

There was never much reason to have hope for it to be great so not surprised by windows central's luke warm impressions.

Don't think that is true for the most part. All you need is a decent streamer. Especially when it comes to sequals.

New IPs can be harder to judge by videos alone.

I've only watched 2 videos (IGN and Gamespot) and neither one seemed all that impressed with the SP portion of the game, the IGN guys sound kind of bummed out about it and the gamestop guy doesn't seem to like it either. Going by the videos it doesn't look like there is much to do in the world, the conflicts seem less frequent than they did in the original but it's hard to judge on this short of a presentation.

Ouch...
"It felt and, in the non-literal, yes-I-know-it’s-running-in-4K sense, looked like an Xbox 360 game."

Yeah I think they are being a bit unfair to the visuals, yeah it's not a great looking game by any stretch but the way the neon lights etc pop alone makes it stand out much more than the 360 game does in 4K. The rest of the visuals are pretty weak but I think they've done a nice job with the lighting. That write up also says the destruction doesn't seem to have any weight to it which is one of the things that to me was always fun about games with destruction. In battlefield games when you bring something down you can tell it's happening, stuff just falling apart like cardboard doesn't sound all that compelling.

I read that (heard that) about the destruction too. But the sound is incredible when debris and mayhem is happening. The chunks of concrete fall and sound meaty to me. I like meaty sound effects. When I edit movies I typically stack gunshots, explosions, ambiance, punches and kicks quite a bit. Great sound can make or break a product. Crackdown has sound on lock!

The sound is nicely done I agree, watching the destruction isn't very impressive though, the stuff all seems like it's falling fairly slowly and the fact that it doesn't cause any damage seems strange. It's also not a good sign that it's only shipping with 3 maps after all of this time in development, that seems a bit cheap. I think MS is going to be happy to just get this out the door and be done talking about it to be honest. It may be fun, I really enjoyed the first game so if this is pretty much the same thing I'll buy it when my GP sub expires, I'm not expecting the world from it but I do hope it's fun.

Regardless if its game pass or not it was going that way.

I don't know, at some point every publisher is going to try to have their own competing service and that'll kill the industry. It's going to lead to less content and even more games focused on microtransactions, it's just how that kind of service is set up to work. Release fewer games, keep them MP focused or at least release a small amount of content on a regular basis to keep people subscribed and nickel and dime them every chance we get to keep bringing money in.

I think at the very least it'll be fun, and fun is what gaming is really all about. Gamers these days seem to forget that quite often.

The more I see the less excited I get. Sure it will be fun just think the long development has killed the excitement for me in part.

Also the multiplayer just looks uninspired and boring. The singleplayer is what I will play it for though.

For people on the fence who haven’t tried GP yet, it’s still $1 for the first month.
