Alien: Isolation 5 platforms Face Off

That's the benefit of a closed platform anyway, nothing special about the ps4. If it was special we would be seeing 1080p/60fps games, name one sony exclusive that is running those specs. The system has been out a year and exclusive devs can't even get it running that, the only time it can pull that off is crossover games from last gen or in very special cases were the game isn't demanding.
I told you you don't know what you are talking about...Its more then that.

No PC that matches the PS4/XBO will get close to the performance that these consoles would get. It takes a PC with 2-3 X the specs to do that.

f***ing, lol. I'll drop off some numbers, then you guys keep going, this thread is gold.

The PS4 "equivilent " GPU is the 7850.

Alien: Isolation - At 1080p/Ultra
A 7850 is capable of getting around 60fps. Roughly 55-60fps, definitely not lock worthy.

A 7790, weaker than the former GPU can get around 45-55fps.

A 7770, the Xbox One "equivalent" is capable of around 40-50fps.

Another fact, CPU is pretty much a non factor with this game. It is not CPU limited and in fact, going from an i3-3220 to an i7-4770 will net you about 2fps in performance.
Edit: not entirely true, the AMD factor might exist.

A 7850 isn't getting the amount of fps as the PS4 equivalent lol to those who keep saying this.

Well, games are both CPU and GPU limited -- always. It just depends on the circumstances with which one reaches the bottleneck first. I'm sure putting a crappy CPU in a PC will net you a lot of FPS loss given the circumstances, but I get your point. Dropping the CPU to even the low end won't lose much FPS at all.

I'm on my cell phone at the moment, I probably should've scrolled down a bit. The AMDs don't seem to fare as well.

Which is why it was suggested in the original DF article that the lower power AMD cores are probably to blame.
People this isn't rocket science.

Sad to see AMD lacking behind both Intel & Nvidia on CPU & GPU.

Few people are putting AMD parts into there rig these days.

That's pretty sad considering I can only get 30fps on the most powerful console in the world

You also insisted that I wasn't getting the fps I was getting on my old pc running bf4. And you never accepted it even after I posted screen shots AND a video of it in motion.

I'm not sure how credible you are.

A video of you doing nothing LOL stop.
I called the bluff then and am calling it again...take a video of you doing more then looking at nothing next time.

Those specs you had are way below these consoles.

I showed you a video of me spinning quickly in a populated map, and showed you screens of me playing the game. I was hitting the fps I said I was hitting, there's no reason to lie. Was I getting dips? Of course, but that's neither here nor there, considering that the console version gets dips as well. However, fact is, I was getting the average fps that I said I was getting. Again, no reason for me to lie.

You just have a hard time believing that a mediocre pc could outperform these consoles.

Your video had nothing going on.
That hardware is weaker then these consoles period.
Mediocre? Try lower end.
Make a real video of your super dated 4 core amd cpu,4gb ram and 660 running the game in a real time scenario with console equivalent settings.
If you can't(you won't) do this there is no point of going on.

I won't....because I literally can't. I no longer have that pc, you know very well I've since updated.

And honestly, it really doesn't matter if you don't believe me. No sweat off my nut sack. You'll just always be the one that choose to not believe me.

Chalk up another W for Sony. Looks like the PS4 is once again proven to be the definitive multiplat console this gen.

Uh-oh.. more and more PS4 zealots are coming to these forums.. oh well, as long as people don't start getting banned for being fanboys of other platforms (ala NeoGAF), we should be ok.

The 7850 is the PS4 equivalent, while PS4s GPU has a little extra Cerny-juice added, but with a little bit less Mhz.

Here are some realtime playthroughs and benchmarks of it producing damned good framerates.

I used to thought the fanboyism is much stronger in the MS camp. Its true that there are more Xbox fans here due to the forum history, but the numbers of extreme fanboyish fanboys are pretty much even.

With the curious vanishing of Intellivision in recent weeks, (who actually is a decent poster on Non consoles related topics), I find the PS fanboys are more donimating in this forum.

I realised a while ago, that if your fanboyish is over 9000, logic & common sense get blocked, & any critism on their favorite console exclusive titles or console (fair or otherwise) are taken badly, I seen it from Xbox fanboys often here (but less so recently), & in the past months more and more from PS Fanboys.

The cheeky or sacastic remarks (acurate of not), normally from Kvally, TDBanks & Jimmy-D, and sometimes Mcmaster (when he feel like visiting here) are always there, but they are mostly just for laugh & non offensive. As more & more titles are closer in performance, more X1 fans feel more comfortable & less defensive, & we are seeing now more PS4 fanboys are now starting to feel a bit insecure, & feel the need to keep reminding us that PS4 is more powerful, & great games will eventually comes on PS4 in 2015, & will totally kill X1 eclusives except it wouldn't. Newsflash, Multiplats (the CODs, FIFA) still dominated most charts.

It's even worse on NeoGAF. At least we have a much much smaller PS4 community over here.

Over 40%/= double the performance=some non MS parity games being 60fps on PS4 vs 30 fps on XBO and 1080p/900p vs 900p/720p on XBO.

You do know that the above examples exist right?
will you be using this to further xb1 will be stuck with poor dev tools and system restrictions all gen long?

I do not see a distination between fanboys of both camps to be honest, but my observation is that fanboys are the worst when they are in defensive mode & being insecure.

Fanboys have 2 main trends, braggings & defending. Bragging is bad, but usually not as bad as in defensive mode, as when you are bragging, you are on a high. But when defending, its like being threaten, they feel insecure, & need to retaliated. They will bend facts, ignore logic, downplay & even make things up if need be. Some when further & start making personal attack.

I have been here long enough to see both side of the camps, & the changes in the mood between the camps.

Yea I never understood why the PS4 version of Alien Isolation never ran at 60fps, it's a easy game to run at max settings, very very easy. Prob because of CPU bottleneck. I am betting to get any kind of some what decent performance out of these next gen consoles your engine has to be VERY threaded to take use of the 6 available CPU cores and if it's not you get poop performance. Even though Alien Isolation is not CPU dependent what so ever. I think it's a testament at to how slow the CPU's really are.

And as slow as the AMD FX 4300 CPU is, it blows the Jaguar CPU's in these next gen consoles out of the water. That's how slow the CPU's in next gen consoles are.

Should've went with Intel.

There will always be a 30-40% GPU gap. It will be there till the end of time. It isn't closing.
Also, both consoles have crappy CPUs and the framerate deficiency imposed therein will only grow as the generation matures.

I expect locked 30fps console games will soon become the norm.

Yes. The problem has more to do with what level of improvement that 30-40% gets them. It may well only amount to slightly better shadows in some instances. More grass, or a better implementation of AO. Some seem to think 40% is almost double performance, when it would have to be 200% to to so.

Vfx is salty the PS4 has much faster system ram then any consumer pc WITHOUT the terrible pc bottle necks.

Hey tfx I can't wait for the spin from you when these consoles start putting out better then pc visuals starting with The Order. Will be funny stuff to watch you troll the threads attempting to discredit these games.

That has nothing to do with power, and everything to do with developers. You think the Order wouldn't run at twice the frame-rate with better IQ on a gaming PC? You. Are. Delusional.

I'm betting the fps was all over the place at 60fps, because even 30fps there were drops in combat.

I said this?

Who's delusional

because this

can only be in context of some kind of mystery power you seem to think the PS4 has. What else would you be arguing for? Your posts combined are almost always in some graphical/power context. Any time a PS4 game would have visuals that outstrip a PC game is entirely due to the developer, and would always, always run better on a PC were it available. Your constant need to inflate the PS4 saturates your post history. It underlies everything. You have a talent for ignoring points you don't like (illustrated perfectly whenever you post "zzz" in response to people, by-the-way).

Your arguments are delusional. It's plain to everyone you don't understand what you are talking about half the time. There are posters here who have demonstrated a far better understanding of how systems work that you blatantly disregard in a grandly self-important manner. Who is delusional- YOU.

That said, keep posting man, it's entertaining at the very least.
