Assassin’s Creed IV: Avast ye lubbers, the Black Flag is officially flown

You know, I have no idea. I just wanted to wear it because it looked cool.

You know I think a Social Treasure is one of those time limited things that pop up on your map randomly... like the Great White Whale harpooning event (the only one I've gotten so far).

Anyone know what you use the treasure items for that your fleet sometimes bring back? The stuff like paintings and statues etc.

Anyone played the expasion yet? I haven't bought because 3 hours seems a bit poor for a $10 expansion.

Last 2 memory sequences left...Jackdaw is pretty much upgrades except for the Elite Broadside cannon which wont take long at all. Was able to amass 100K R through the Kenways Fleet

Beat it last night. It's a good ending. Make sure you watch the credits to see some extra scenes. Still have four upgrades to get for the Jackdaw.

So how would you rate the game. I am considering getting this but may wait for Tomb Raider.

Don't wait. Its only second to GTA 5 in terms of the best open world game ive ever played, and even that is subjectible. Honestly this, dead rising 3 and gGTA 5 are the best console games in years

Just posting to also say that this is one of the best open world games ever made. This game is like a mix of assassins creed 1 and far cry 3. I love the tweaks they've made to the animations on the main character as well. Game is so good.

I have to say this is one of my favorite games to come out in a long time, been playing it pretty much every day since the PS4 launched.

I am just starting ch 6
I have all the upgrades for my ship [need 1 more for my hideout] and all collectibles
all locations except 3 shipwrecks [and collectibles]
and except the ones that will open up later in the story
this is a type of game I like as I can explore as much as I chose and skip the story until later
so that's what I do first.. explore!!

that's why I like games like skyrim and fallout 3

those shipwrecks are a pain, been doing suicide runs to get all the stuff.. lol

Those damn twins are a bitch to defeat, even with all upgrades. I beat them with the life bar practically at zero.

OK somebody help me out please.

For those that have played this game and Tomb Raider what is your preference and why. I was just told Tomb Raider is a great game but this person hasn't played AC4 but has played all the other AC games and suggested Tomb Raider first.

tomb raider is a good game
but I am having way more fun with AC4
and I was not planning on buying it.. its different from the other AC games

PS your sailors will sing on your ship
I posted the shanties a few pages back

Got this game yesterday and have already spent so many hours into it. It's very different. I haven't played an AC game since the second iteration (one of my favorite games of 2009). For some reason, I just never picked up another one until IV. The naval combat surprised me and I am still getting the hang of it, but man, there's a ton of things to do in this game. It's a bit overwhelming! I love how Edward gets the assassin's robe, though. That was pretty genius.

Wow, what a horrible choice you have to make! Both to me are some of the very best of this generation. I can't recommend one over the other, all I can say is that they are very different games in a way. Tomb Raider has a very linear style of gameplay, while AC4 is very much an open world game. I mean there is some exploration in tomb raider, but overall the games don't compare in that respect. So AC4 is naturally going to have way more value because there is so much to do. It's one of those games you get addicted to because of the upgrade system.

Tomb raider however has the better story and probably technology. It's the most immersive game I've ever played, and it really felt next gen to me. The little touches with the animations such as when Laura shivers in the cold go a long way towards creating a great atmosphere. The amazing graphics don't hurt either. :)

Like I said though, I'm not going to make any recommendations on this one. It just depends on what kind of game you're looking for. You really can't go wrong.

Funny thing is,not ONCE have I played this game with e Assassins' garb. when I started the game I had some old Uplay points and I bought the Edward The Legend outfit and played with that (and the Whaler suit) for most of the game.
