So you only get to attack once in battle or does it get better as you rank up? Maybe I'm doing the whole thing wrong. Goblins kicked my butt.

Depends. Some classes get 1 attack per turn (action).

Brief summary:

Between PS5/XSX

- Quality mode at 1440p on PS5/XSX and 1080p in performance mode (as a curiosity, the XSX HUD has a lower resolution)

- Visually there are few differences. For example, in the XSX version the characters are on surfaces in a more realistic way; On PS5 they seem to "float", but the geometry is very similar. The XSX version has worse texture filtering. The water also looks slightly different, which they believe is because they've tried to make it look more realistic, but up close they look identical.

- Performance is similar, but in CPU-limited areas like the third act, PS5 performs better.

XSS:

- The quality of shadows is lower than that of XSX. There are no more visual differences apparently, the texture filtering for example is identical.

- 1080p native.

- 30fps, performance is the same as Xbox Series X.

So after all the nonsense the Series S is the same in quality mode as the other 2 but in 1080P instead of 1440P

Also, you can tell this game isn't well optimized on Xbox as the superior CPU isn't being shown.

Also, lol, at DF trying to use population density as the reason for sub 30fps on all consoles when there are only like 10 people on screen

Pretty sure it's had to have well over 1,000 fixes now but yeah guess we can celebrate unfinished games now..

I am busy over the weekend and all hell breaks loose here. Threads closed, mods yelling in all red font.

Did anyone get grounded?

FWIW, I got laid last night and now my hips are sore. I am getting too old for this s***.

When the quality is high enough for the overall project you can forgive some imperfections as long as they continue to fix them. If the game is mid at best and the bugs make it worse yeah that's more of a problem. No bugs would be better for sure, all games have patches these days and few games have launched in the last several years with as much player choice and content as this game.

No it's not perfect but again this game won GOTY by both the "voting body" for the official award AND the players voice award, the one you are obviously trying to compare it to without saying the name didn't even make it to the second round of fan voting. There is a difference in quality and execution in these two games, they are very different in general.

Not comparing it to anything other that itself and media and gamers picking and choosing when stuffs an issue but again... make it about Xbox.

Jerry is so full of it.

And how does he not get a timeout for going at a mod?

The same people who voted it GOTY are the same people who gave it rave reviews without even finishing the game, lol.

These, since you bought it up, are the same people who spent the months prior to Starfield's release spreading negative articles based on nothing and some of them, like Metro, have admitted intentionally giving Xbox worse reviews because it is Xbox.

Yet all of BG3's issues are swept under the rug.

Sure, Sure, Jinca. Your ignorance is astounding, but not surprising.

Bulls***. This game is on xbox btw it has nothing to do with xbox it has to do with your nonsense in this thread.

It's on Xbox? You don't say.. and yet my view on it never changed.
Again, make it all about Xbox.

You probably choose to ignore I've also been critical of the press going on about AW2 yet ignoring the 15 odd patches already. Or any of the other times I've mentioned the press and this.

I think it's GOTY more because of how different a game it is. Also the cutscenes and mocap are really great and detailed. And the fact you can go at all the situations in the game any way you like based on your character and your own personality is what really differentiated it from the other games this year.

It's not my GOTY but I can see why most liked it as it was different.

Ignore? or haven't seen? sorry I don't follow you around the forums like a couple of clowns seem to do with me here and on twitter. The fact that this game won the fan voting makes it's GOTY year win more legitimate IMO although as I've said a million times I think awards like this are all subjective and really meaningless.

We know games are going to continue to release with flaws, as long as it's not broken and unplayable, I think it can be forgiven. I don't like bugs either, Forbidden West launched before it was ready, the performance mode had its visual issues mixed months after launch, what good does that do me after I've already finished it? I get it, it's annoying but the fact is this game for a lot of people is the best game that was released this year. I didn't play it on PC I play it on PS5 and I haven't run into anything game breaking, a lot of the fixes are performance improvements or quality of life changes as well not so much fixing something that's totally broken.

Chapter 3 was at launch and maybe still is a mess yet this was ignored by the press. Just like most ignored Phantom Pains 2nd chapter.

And if meaningless why do you care if anyone thinks it getting GOTY is a joke?

How much different is this to Original Sin 2? I mean... that game didn't really get talked about regarding goty in the console world did it?
Also, Diablo 4 considered a bad game and not talked about in regards to goty because of, at launch, a mediocre end game?
BG3 = media loves it and praise it in regards to not being buggy... but game is buggy af in the latter half?
Diablo 4 = media turns almost immediately and rages over bad end game (45h later)?
One is owned by xbox and the other a ps5 console exclusive (at launch).

Makes one wonder...

This continues the trend of a bias in gaming. Reviewers and gamers will turn a blind eye to bugs, issues, bad parts of a game if they want to love something no matter what. Then turn around and criticize another game when they’re looking for faults no matter how good the game is. This s*** is a joke.
