On Breakthrough defense, you basically have to go Irish and spam his trophy systems. I didn't even realize his 2nd gadget was that.

I agree. The old maps play so much better. I'd be happy with remastered maps for seasonal content.
Honestly older maps in a lot of the shooter franchises I love are better than newer stuff. My problem is when these companies try to make maps too complex or too open instead of sticking with what has worked for that series.

Yea I've been wishing that from the start, and think it was a big miss from DICE to not have a team remastering old maps to entice players back
I'd definitely be happy with all remastered maps from past games instead of new ones.
It is still puzzling how badly they missed the mark on the maps. Everyone played Orbital in the demo and disliked it from the start.
All games go through their bad map phase. COD MW2 comes to mind, but these were just wrong.

I get why they did that, the game was advertised and sold as 128 players, the old maps can't support that.
The big mistake IMO was no old maps for season 1. Maybe this will change in season 2 given how popular and well received the Exodus Conquest playlist has seemingly been.
Yeah that games maps were pretty bad. Hopefully MW2 gets it right this fall.
Game has got itself in the top 50 (48th) most played games in the UK. Hasn't been in there all year.
I'm having fun playing. I get all my challenges done and just kept playing anyway. They just need to so something about helicopter balance. There doesn't seem to be a good counter to the Hind on defense on the new map.
They also need a weapon balance patch badly. The game is basically the BSV and MP9/K30. The BSV is just stupid overpowered. I just go prone on defense and aim where people run in and get multiple insta-kills.

The BSV is just dumb.
All the SMGs need reworking, they are way too effective at medium range and make the ARs kinda pointless.
I got "sniped" by the PDX on the new map from a couple hundred meters.
I think the SMGs just need more recoil. Keep them viable at short range, but the ARs have crazy recoil compared to SMGs (except the M5A3). Recoil ends up being mostly range in the video game world. I'm burst firing my AR and getting mapped by SMGs that never have to stop firing. I'd buff most of the ARs too on top of what they are now.
They nerfed ARs a long time ago, but left SMGs alone which is weird.
I hope this hits GP soon. Give me a few months to play before MW2/Warzone 2 hits this fall.
Yeah I'd be shocked if it didn't hit EA Play/Game Pass sometime this season.
The game has some momentum, but enough people are not going to try it. It is on sale now for $30 but that isn't going to bring in enough people.
I still have yet to see this game on the main top 50 played on Xbox, although not sure if that's something weird where the editions get split or something. Still, not a good look having fewer players than COD Cold War. Battlefront 2 is actually decent on the list which is kind of sad/funny.

It’s strange it hasn’t hit GP yet. You would think they wanted that player boost by now and then more buying the new BP.

They gave an interview and seem committed to the game. If they don't get the player numbers up, they won't stay with it.
