Dragon Age: Inquisition - Nov. 18

I heard there's a cutscene that follows the credits. I also heard you can't skip the credits to get to it.

Anyone who's killed any of them got any tips for the dragons? I gave the one in the Hinterlands a trial run but by the time I got it to land my party had four potions left and didn't end well.

You're gonna want weapons that do extra damage to Dragons and weapons that deal damage to their particular weaknesses.
You are also going to want to have all your potions as well.
In addition you might need some armor that has resistances to the dragon's strength. The hinterland one shoots Fire. I.e. Get some flame resistance.
An all melee party isn't going to cut it. You're going to need at least another party member that has ranged attacks.

I'd suggest being a level or 2 stronger than it. Again the Hinterland one I believe is at level 12 so shoot for level 13 or 14.

I had a few goes at the Crestwood one and had no luck, but I went and got my Reaver speclialisation for Warrior and I went back and had no problems. Reaver absolutely stomped it, it's insane.

The fight gave me a lot more interest in using the tactical camera as well, making sure my range party members were safe and keeping the dragons head and front feet facing away from them helped as well. Definitely think I could do the Hinterland one if I pick up go craft a few pieces to help me out with it now.

Ugh, I wish they would get the crashes sorted. I was playing with graphics settings to see what I can do to make it run the best and have the best graphics, and i swear it has crashed like 5 times in the last half hour just walking around checking the fps.

I have made it several hours before with no crash. Apparently, a lot of people are having this problem. I have to keep windows task manager up on my second monitor (minimized at least) because it makes it easier to close the game when it crashes. I also have to save quite often.

Lolol. good point :D

I know! Everything I have can't be used by my class. I mean armor, weapons, nothing. Everything I pick up is for another class and it sucks. I want a better bow and armor but I have tons of s*** that neither I, or anyone else in my party can use.

Go to Red Cliff(in the Hinterlands) and down on the dock is a book seller. He has about 30 schematics.

Hmm, I'm not sure. With this character, I just saved my perks and spent several at a time to test them. I haven't even respec'd yet officially, so I'm hoping for the best.

What are specialization points? I must not have gotten that far in the game yet or not sure what you mean.

There not actually specialization points exactly. There are just skill points that put in to one of the class Specializations. So for archer that would one of these 3 skill trees that you need to unlock( not sure how to unlock), Assassin, Tempest, Artificer.

28 hours and I've just reached the castle. I feel like the game is only starting up now. That advice on leaving the Hinterlands and progressing the game was solid.
That is silly advice. It is almost impossible to do this. Every time I go to progress the main the story I get distracted by herds of Bears, or by shards, damsels in distress, Giants fighting Dragons...etc

Yeah the crashes can get annoying. Mine have mostly been on start up via the press start button screen and the menu that follows. Only had 1 in game crash.

To get past the intro/menu crash I have found starting the game in a window(start game via origin then minimize origin before anything comes up on screen) stops it completely.

Not to sound dumb, but you can save anytime & multiple files right? I hate those single save check point saving. When your file is corrupted, you are pretty much screwed.

You can save anywhere unless in combat (or sometimes near combat...). You have an autosave and as many save files as you want. Each character you make gets their own saves slots as well to make it easy if you want to try more than one class for testing.

Well, I set the graphics back to automatic detect, and then adjusted a few settings up or down to my liking. It is mostly very smooth, and I managed to play a while without a crash. Hopefully, this will work for a while.

Every now and then I get an odd lag for a second, but it's rare. I have no idea why. Don't remember it before.

I also disabled anything to do with online or logging in so I don't have to wait a few seconds at the title screen for nothing while it logs in each time. With the crashes, that got to be a pain.

I'm still enjoying the game despite the issues. I don't often buy games on release because of this (even on console), but sometimes I just can't wait if I've been looking forward to it for a long time.

menace-uk- Yeah, it's real easy to get distracted but until you get to the castle, you are pretty much in the intro for the game and missing out.

So its like Mass effect. Cool.

Thanks.

Do you guys agree Rogue is best class. I am getting the game soon (after work), so I hope to hear from you guys.

i remember in the 1st dragon age rogue was broken you could max out dex and dps by yourself. in inquisition you cant customize stats........ i find the archer tree underwhelming but the dual dagger to be quite good, thought i'm still early.

Rogue has been pretty fun for me. The archer tree is enjoyable to me, but I can see how others don't like it. The one thing I noticed, is that your skills vary depending on where you're attacking from. My arrows have done a high damage of 80 to a low of like 13. Archers have very particular settings you need to understand. I shoot from distance from elevation and usual get about 50 points per arrow. If you position yourself in front of your opponent, or at a position that gives you a good shot at their head, you land headshots, and that will give you most points per shot.

In the beginning of the game, you don't need many of the other skill sets. I'd level up an entire skill set before I i start to work on others, as an archer that is. I do wish that there were more options that benefited archers though.

Do the attributes in this game actually do anything ? Lets say, for example, that I tailor all my armour & weapons to maximize strength, will that make my attacks do more damage ? or is damage solely weapon dependant. What about cunning for Archer, if I tailor all my gear to that attribute will actually mean/do anything ?

Do full draw at elevation and long distance( further away you are the more damage it does). I do that and it kills many enemies in one shot. With the upgrade it will knock them out( those who withstand one shot) which allows you to run up and do leaping shot at pretty close range( does more damage) then I throw a few fire grenades(AOE, yay) on the battlefield before going stealth and retreating back to higher ground.

Yep. Full draw with the stun shot is excellent. I'm doing over 1000 points of damage with sera using that. I usually initiate battles with that to land a strong first blow and full up with area attacks by my mage.

For Xbox, press left on the d pad in game to bring up the map. 30 hours in and I only just discovered this. Lol

Thanks, I'll make that happen.

I don't know if any of you guys have faced the Envy Demon, but holy f*** I just pulled some Miracle s***. 2 of my squad had like 20% health, I had two health potions and my health was low along with Solas. Getting through that was tough but man did it feel good to pull it off. This game is amazing, I can see myself playing through it quite a few times.

More games need quality like this.

Yeah that fight was a bitch. Not as much as defending the trebuchets. I had to run back to Haven to avoid bad guys and happened to find more supply caches. That was a f***ing blessing because I was starting to say how bulls*** the game got for leaving me with just one potion refill in such a big fight.

Every boss fight save for the first one has had supply caches available somewhere. There are three caches to be found for that defend haven fight.

Now I just got to skyhold. Really looking forward to fixing this place up. I also just got mark of the rift. I'm having trouble figuring this thing out. I see little diamonds build up next to my abilities but how much does it have to fill to charge up?

Yeah, it has to charge up. I think it adds to the charge each time you or a party member do a successful hit on an enemy. And the charge holds, even if you return to sky hold.

Cool thanks. And do you know when specializations open up?

Guys, I'm out of this thread. It frustrates me so much to see you guys making a progress through a 100+ hour long game while I wait for gender fix and others. Even more frustrating is that I'm leaving the one thread in the entire UVGF where everybody's talking about an actual game. And frustration aside I think I'm going to see spoilers here and there in this thread. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaah see ya later.

[PC] Gender Swapped text
  • A small number of users playing as male are getting female responses and romance options. We are aware of the issue and are looking into it.
  • If you don't want to wait for a fix, restart your character and do the following during character creation: Change your gender a couple of times, e.g. if you want to roll a male, select male then female and back to male, alternatively with female character select female, male, then female.

And I am totally NOT restarting. Unless the patch does not come out until the first week of December.
