Dragon Age: Inquisition - Nov. 18

70 hours into the game, got to stop collecting shards, I think I will focus more on the main quest now
The fade was great, nice change , and one of the two hardest decisions I had to do sow far in the game

Agreed on the fade. Sat there for a minute while deciding.

I've only played about 20 minutes of the campaign in this, I've been playing the co-op non-stop. It's starting to get repetitive though. What frustrates me is I love the co-op so much. At the same time it's so lightweight. This co-op would be so dang amazing if there were about 10 levels, more variety to the levels, then you could could customize your guy a bit more. If there was more depth this could seriously be the best arcade thing ever released because all the classes are already fun & the gameplay/graphics are solid for four player co-op. I also think they should raise the price of the chests that you buy, then the enemies should randomly drop a little loot & the vases/chests should have a bit more gold in them. Nobody really wants to keep playing over & over knowing every vase is only going to have 11-20 gold in it, there's no element of surprise. Do what Diablo III: Reaper of Souls does a bit more with the variety to drops & raise what you get a little bit so it's more exciting.

It takes way too long to level up in this game. Literally hours. I find all these weapons and armor that are too high level and it gets very frustrating knowing I have to way so damn long to use them. Bah.

I think the main issue is that you don't get much experience from killing enemies. When you find a weapon that you can't use for a couple levels, you pretty much have to do important quests or story missions to have any chance of using it any time soon. By the time you do important missions, you'll probably find something else or forget to equip it.

It's not as bad at lower levels because they go fairy fast, but after level 8 or 9 it gets a bit slow. If you like exploring you can usually stumble across rare loot that takes ages to be able to use.

I'm the kind of guy who likes to explore the world and just meander around, especially right now with the crashing issues I've had. I don't want to get too heavy into story missions that I may end up repeating because I couldn't save before the crash.

CO-OP sucks with randoms. Why do people play a co-op mode and then run off way in front and start attacking groups of enemies just to die before the rest of the party gets there ? Seriously, some people are just fookin idiots. I was done with co-op on the second day.

I have not noticed to be honest. Maybe because I realized that the armour & gear you find sucks in comparison to what you can craft. Loot in this game seems rather pointless, its only point is to be sold for gold.

Co-op's fun if you have at least one friend playing with you, cause pubs just end up with an unbalanced group. You need support and ideally someone to tank otherwise it can end up pretty rough. It's a fun mode with a lot potential in my opinion. If they fleshed it out a bit more they could have something cool there.

Damn this game was hard to find, hopefully it's selling well around the world too.

This right here. Crafting armor and weapons dwarfs what you'll find in the field. I've noticed that about 99% of the time I pick something up, it's not as good as what I'm currently using. It's worth it's weight in gold, so you can sell it off for coin. But I agree, crafting is the best way to go.

Leveling up does slow down a bit, and it takes bigger quests, but it's not too bad for me because I usually kill every enemy I come across just for the xp. I'm starting to think that in order to get the absolute most out of the game, it has to be taken slowly. That's fine by me, I enjoy getting the most out of my games.

Joyous it would be for my party and me, a historic day of victory.

See another thing is the schematics I find. I haven't found a schematic for a better bow in quite a while.

I said the same thing til I started crafting. You have to understand that the materials you have make up what you craft. So if you use Onyx instead of Iron, you'll be able to make a more powerful Bow. That's why i cannot overlook any herbs or Ore's I come across. I've often gone back to the Hinterlands just so I can stock up on Elfroot and other ingredients. When you get to higher levels and start doing other quests, that stock of 130 Elfroot you think you're set on will drain insanely quick.

One thing I kind stopped doing is talking to the Requisition Officer. She'll give you a list of things needed to help the inquisition. That usually will drain a lot of your materials, if you're like me and you take literally anything you find because you never know what it'll be used for. Those Requisition quests are a total drain on your resources, would only recommend doing a few, because they seem to be never ending.

really digging this game so far. i've spent about 2-3 hours in hinterlands and there's sooo much to do it's a little intimidating but I'm still having fun with it.

Yeah, Same with staffs.

I am going to disagree. Based on my crafting you are limited by what the schematic is. I mean If I put a tier 1 material in and then a tier 3 material the DPS outcome is not that great, perhaps 20-40DPS. For example, I can not make my previous crafted bow more powerful than my current crafted bow no matter what I put in to make it.

I know, but I was implying that he already had schematics that he could work with. Even if they're bad, they're the best of bad situation.

Okay I take back what I said about schematics. I just got a schematic for pretty sick armor and a bow.

I really wish I could see the rewards for war table operations before I accept them. And does the outcome differ based on who you assign to them?

I had by far the worst (and probably only) bad experience in DA:I last night. I was doing the mission which takes place in
The Winter Palace.

I ended up having to Google a map just to find the statues to open the doors as spamming my left stick for an hour and a half got tiring. Seriously, that mission has a silly amount of side objectives. It had some cool moments when it all paid off in the end but it was frustrating having to revisit all the areas you've explored because new stuff is placed during each of the 3 parts of the mission.

Funny, the winter palace was one of my favorite missions. It was a change of pace from go here, kill this, repeat. I found the halla statues pretty easy. Keeping court approval at 100 was a trip though.

I liked the idea of it, just the sheer amount of side objectives you could find was frustrating. I did enjoy the dialogue side of it as well as figuring out what was going on but the whole searching for the secrets part of it, ugh. Bit too much of it for my liking.

Don't think so. It should give you an armor rating/DPS before you actually craft the item. It's never exact until you're adding the materials to actually make the item. So your DPS for a bow could 128-149. The materials you use to make the bow, will determine your DPS outcome. Same thing with armor.

I think its selling well. Yesterday I was in Mediamarkt, one of the the biggest electronics chain in Western Europe, & they have healthy supplies of other games like Fifa15 & COD stackings on shelf but Dragon age (PS4 version) was on where to be found. We know they had stock because you still find X1 versions(& I think also last gen), & I have bought the game a week ago.

That or they did not ordered enough. I think it should be selling very well.

Good to know this.

Wait, so its not random?

Also how to determine if you used the best materials for the crafting?

No, it depends on your ingredients and materials.

I'll explain more below.

This was taken from the IGN video, just a quick still I captured. As you can see, his armor rating for this piece is 189. The tree you're looking at determines the qualities your armor possesses. So, do you see the bottom of the tree, the highlighted one yes? Look to the right where it's also highlighted at "+16% Fire Resistance". That entire tree can be customized to your liking by the ingredients and materials you have. That will determine weather or not your armor will get that full 189, or the 143 per se. It also decides what type of bonuses, like the Fire Resistance one I pointed out. A particular combination can give you a full armor rating if you'd like, or it can give you a low one, but make up for it with bonuses to the right. The rarer the materials you put in, the stronger your armor/weapon will be. Also, you get those bonuses either way, but a certain combination will give you even more.

The materials you choose affect your Armor Color as well. So let's say you use Serpentstone, that has a darkish blue color so that's what color your armor will be. Drakestone is a reddish pink color ect... The ore's you collect make up your armor, the other materials like the bear pelt's, canine leather, and other will make the rest. You need a minimum of each particular material to craft your armor as you can see. Do not sleep on the Bear Pelt and material you get from animals. That leather is great for health bonuses with your armor.

Some of of your materials will be unavailable for you to use. Either you don't have enough of it, or that particular armor/weapon schematic doesn't involve that item.

I don't think there is a "best" choice with this. With the amount of options, it's almost impossible to determine what's actually best. I personally go for items that will give me more health. I use other apparel like Belts to handle my resistance to magic.

Are there any cool lookin bows ? All the ones I have seen thus far are very unoriginal and plain. Same goes with armor.

HOW DARE YOU! That is the best bit of poetry since Edger Alan Poe.

I like the one I'm currently using. It's on fire every time I pull it out for combat. Plus the frame looks nice as well. I'll post pics once Xbox stops being a bitch with Upload.

WOw, game is deeper than I thought. You are able to retrieve back the ingredients befores selling right (when you want to sell)?

I have a question, I am in the Hinterlands now but so far I couldn't find someone or place to upgrade my potion, or any blacksmith. DO I need to return to Frostback mountain (if so how to) or I find the place to upgrade potion & blacksmith as I open up?

Not sure what you mean by this.

The only way to do that is at Haven. There is a blacksmith located outside the wall to the right where the soldiers are training. Make sure you stock up on all ingredients in the Hinterlands before you go craft.

To leave, open your quest map, then press Y to go to the world, then go to Haven.

It is has a fire rune, right ? Mine is on fire too cause of the rune.
My bow looks ok, but I want some awesome, crazy designs. RPG's nowadays rarely have cool out-there designs. Only weapon I have seen in the vein I am thinking off was a giant two-handed hammer/axe made from a dragon tooth.

No, the materials you put in are gone. However, I did read on one of those loading screen cards that you can remove upgrades ( legs, arms, grips, shafts..etc) and Runes before selling. The upgrades is neither here no there but the rune one is pretty big news. Materials fro runes can be rather rare.
