Fallout 4?

Maybe I'll fire up either FO3 or NV for the first time soon.

Any suggestion on which one?

I feel NV is the overall better game. Still, here are some things you might want to consider:

Do you want Story, interesting characters, good dialog, good followers and decent weapon customization with a HUGE desert to explore with a lot of different looking areas and settlements that are more populated?

OR

Do you want a decent action flick type of story with less interesting characters, okay dialog, a more oppressive world to explore but with largely same-same areas to visit (think oblivion if you've played that) and no weapon customization?

If the former then play NV, if the latter then play FO3.

I'm a game play type of guy. You can aim down sights in NV right? I tried playing FO3 before and the controls were less than ideal for me. I was just running up to targets and points for their heads in FO3.

Yeah, NV has ADS, FO3 doesn't. Although, if you're going to play on PC there are many mods for FO3 to add ADS.

I hope Fallout 4 releases in fall 2014. That may be a stretch, but if Bethesda is plugging it this early, it's a possibility.

vgx will NOT be shown on spike TV until the following Monday
they have totally changed it
so I no longer think it is a likely place for fallout 4 to be announced

FO3 by far has the most interesting environments, while NV has much more interesting gameplay. I love the NV to kill or get along option as it gives the game more depth. That being said, the Las Vegas set in the game is absolutely awful, and yanks one out any kind immersive experience.

I liked New Vegas's map way better myself. Fallout 3 could be really obnoxious at times with huge areas that are only accessible via small confusing entries. Spent a lot of time wandering around massive walled in areas never realizing I had to find an entrance via a subway or whatever.

yeah, that part really sucked. also all the samey-same subway tunnels and caves. still, the general feel of downtown DC was far more oppressive and post-apoc than anything I ventured through in NV.

Some abandoned buildings and caves in NV were freaky as hell to explore, i still don't think i picked the game up after one particuarly unnerving run.

It's kind of hard to pick a favorite out of the two, i played much more of FO3 and loved it, but the short time i spent with NV was memorable.

Yeah I think that was partly purposeful though. They weren't quite as affected by the war there.

Definitely a different feel to the game and a little less Fallouty but I still liked it a lot. I think overall I like Fallout 3 better but was annoyed by the overall "map."

Fallout 3 and the DLC packs were FAR superior to NV and it's DLC.

Hell....Mothership Zeta alone > all NV content.
Point Lookout was also awesome!

I generally felt Fallout 3 was a better game (setting wise) & gameplay wise.

Fallout NV was good too....but the setting just didn't work for me. I loved the followers in NV though....Raul was my favorite.

This game is going to be so epic. Boston should be a great setting.

One of the key games to get for me. But please..... no tutorial level to start off the game? Just let us make a character and immediately be able to roam the landscape.
