This is rich. Absolutely rich.

Instead of encouraging knowledge and rational thought in this community, you go after the members who do. And for what? To appease someone who may or may not get hurt feelings for saying stupid things? Look, we've all had dumb stuff slip out of our consciousness from time to time, so I'm not going after JinCA personally, but let's not coddle the weak if it means suppressing a higher level of thinking.

Is that so much to ask? Good grief.

Kinda like someone who rarely contributes any thoughtful discourse him/herself, and spends most of his posts putting people down or making snide comments, huh?

You have to be the least encouraging poster in the forum this side of Consolewarz.

You often make these kinds of remarks about a lack of intelligent comments, but you never provide them yourself. The high-horse you ride on is a f***in' pony, and you don't even know it. You've got to be hanging upside-down to look down on anyone like you do.

You're partially right here.

I do "rarely" make meaningful contributions here, especially lately, but...

1) Rarely >>>> Never, which is what 95% of the members here contribute.

2) When mods like TheLivingTribunal poo poo obvious statements such as mine, it doesn't exactly encourage thoughtful investment now does it? The majority of members here rarely aspire to my level when I am inspired by something regarding this industry. For example, menace-uk's best posts are GIFs. What does that tell you?

Here's a thought...how about we spend a fraction of the ire directed at me around here and point it towards the mass of posters who have never typed an interesting post on this forum? Crazy right?

"Interesting" is entirely subjective. The only reason I am directing any "ire" at you is because you are being rude to others. More specifically condescending- which is a pet peeve of mine.

People are here to talk about video games with people of like interest on whatever level they feel like- that may not light the world of deep, meaningful discourse on fire, but it doesn't have to.

Most of us don't have the opportunity to speak of it at any level with our day-to-day peers. This includes joking, poking fun (within reason), and being goofy as well as discussion on the finer points on artistic merit and economical relevancy of company policies.

It's a stinkin' hobby.

Okay, I'm not sure I've even responded in this thread yet, as I don't typically go out of my way to get involved in these kinds of discussions, but your posts are getting more and more ridiculous dude.

1) Get over yourself. Plenty of people here contribute in meaningful ways. Also, just to clue you in, just because something may not be meaningful to you, doesn't mean it can't be for someone else. Don't be an arrogant prick.

2) Mods here are pretty lenient, so if they're involved in something you're doing, then it should probably tell you something. Second statement equates to rolling my eyes at you. While Menace and I don't always see eye to eye (we've had our fair share of lengthy arguments/discussions) and I dislike constant GIF posting as much as the next guy, this personal attack is the reason the mods have said what they did. In addition, Menace has provided quite a lot of meaningful discussion on this site, even when I've disagreed with him. Don't be so self-important.

THL, I can't tell whether you are a narcissist or just trolling people. Maybe it's both. I agree with what others are saying -- you are arrogant, you condescend to and belittle other posters, you act superior without much evidence of it, etc. However, it never seems entirely sincere to me -- it usually comes off like an act or a joke. I suspect you are doing it intentionally, partly because you enjoy acting the superior part, and also partly because you enjoy getting a rise out of people.

Anyhow, I'd suggest we not derail the thread too much. I like the fact that THL is getting some good feedback, but I also think he's enjoying the attention.

Why would Tribunal not poo poo your classless posts? As you admit, you "rarely" make meaningful contributions. So what's wrong with a mod poo poo-ing your posts which rarely are meaningful?

I know, I was just explaining there isn't that kind of relationship between Plainview and the mods. Mods take action on their own, not based on direction by Plainview. He's the owner, but he doesn't act like a boss (giving direction, rewards/punishment, etc.). He's very hands-off.

Of course, as site owner, he has the final say if there are conflicts/disagreements, but there usually aren't any. I assume he would crack down if a mod got out of line, but I've never seen him do it -- even to Ketto :tounge: . He generally trusts us our judgment and just leaves us alone.

Dragon Quest Heroes is an AAA game. It had a big announcement at TGS 2014 conference. Exclusive metal slime themed PS4. 3 different studios (mainly Omega Force) working on it and published by Square Enix. Most of the big names in Dragon Quest are involved. Sold over 700,000 copies in Japan alone.

Apparently only western games named Halo, Forza, or Gears of War deserve to be called AAA exclusives. It figures you would run into xenophobia here, with ignorant posters so biased towards the 'Murrica Box, who then scratch their heads as to why PS4 is selling so much better outside of the US and UK.

Well, regardless of whether it's "AAA" or not, I lost interest once I heard it was a Dynasty Warriors style hack & slash. Not my style. The second link says they're making the game to tide fans over until the next real Dragon Quest game comes along.
 
In a surprise to no one, the current gen receives its first "must have" game in Bloodborne, which is only on PS4. The healthy foundation is beginning to sprout it's first flowers.

That's a pretty niche lineup other than The Order, even Bloodbourne is considered niche. Not bad, but when I google those other games I just don't see how they match up to a REAL God of War sequel, GT7, KZ, Infamous, UC4, Halo, TR, Gears, QB.
