Word. If only they had put even 1/10th as much into the ending as they did with the resolution of the Geth/Quarian conflict (in as general terms as possible to avoid spoilers), it would have been awesome.

I still think Mass Effect 3 was a great game. But the ending was also the ending to an entire trilogy. By screwing that up, they kind of soured my feeling on the whole series up to that point. I still love the characters, and the world in general, but that story left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths because of the ending.

I still haven't played 1 or 2, and I have them both! I blame Steam. Blasted sales....

This is the most important unresolved part of ME that NEEDS to be adressed in the sequel:

:D

Has the genre of the next one been confirmed? I mean I know enough not to expect ME: Sublight Kart Racers, I just wonder if they intend to make it more shooty. Of course, even without the rpg elements, there's plenty room left for the story/conversation aspect.

Though I doubt they're doing that anyway.

I don't know what the right path forward would be, but after I finished Mass Effect 2, the only thing I could think of was that it was the first IP since the Matrix to make me feel like: This could be a new Star Wars. The potential here is so appealing. It's so diverse and there is so much.

ME2 to me was the most improved sequel of all time. The combat was stellar. The powers were great. But the characters. My god. The characters were the best since KOTOR.

I'd like to see fatter asses on all the female characters now that I think about it. With some hot petite babes thrown in for good measure. Just make them sluttier in general, and for god's sake, let's have some raunchy sex scenes. When I was watching Witcher 2 sex scenes, all I could think was how much Bioware dropped the ball.

Broward need to walk away from the nerdy sex that they filled 2&3 with.

LOL.
You didn't like the heartbeats in the back and the fading in and out with subtle piano overtones. In space when you are about to die....I wouldn't be f***ing to piano sounds. I'd be tearing that ass up from Pluto to Uranus.

Yeah, they need some raunchy 70s funk to f*** to.

...Really?

Nope.

Am I the only one who didn't hate the ending in ME3?

ME: Sublight Kart Racers would be a must buy.

I didn't hate it, but it didn't blow me away like I hoped it would.

Ending sucked monkey balls.

The whole Earth mission sucked. Should have been like the Collector base with you assigning squad mates to roles.

I thought the Earth mission was pretty awesome (though I do understand the criticism with the ending). But yeah, that is a cool idea. I agree, they should have done that.

I think it had to do with its overall apocalyptic tone, the uncertainty of what happened to your crew mates (which we spent 3 very long games forming bonds with), and other perceived plot holes by the fan base. I mean, the original ending did leave the impression that the universe was screwed, and cut off from each other, and everyone probably starved to death.

I think they wanted people to wonder what happened, which some people like, but most didn't and wanted answers.

I always say that I think people expected The Lord of the Rings, and instead got The Matrix Revolutions.

Earth mission, didn't like it. The ending, on the other hand... I still hope there wasn't any extended cut. To edit Gryphon a little bit, I think people expected LOTR, but instead we got 2001: A Space Odyssey. Being a fan of Clarke's work I thought it was just awesome that the series went that way, expanding what the universe can be while closing down a key chapter. One thing I don't get is that people felt the original ending felt apocalyptic. It had no difference from the extended cut in terms of its tone. It never assumes the aftermath of Shepard's action, and just opens up the possibility of sequels. With the mass relays gone, the sequel would have explained how people tried to deal with the crisis, which would have been a great source of plots.

I think reading other people's ideas online of what the ending meant for #3 was better than the ending it self. A lot of people had some really creative ideas that I could actually see being plausible based on the events in the game.

Not me. I think most of them are horrible ideas that came up just to deny that they don't like the ending. The ending is just as is, there is no other intention.

Nope. I liked the ending as well. It was a little abstract alright but still good.
It was much more than the ending that was bad. I mean, where was Harbinger? a 30 second cameo? That is like the third Hobbit movie not including Smaug, save for a scene where he takes a fly over power dump on Bilbo as he walks back to the shire.
