MS killed it in November. The XBOX ONE averaged more consoles sold per day for the 9 days it was out in November than any console in the month (Sony did sell more PS4s, but it had 7 extra days). December sales are going to be very interesting.
I was at Shopko again yesterday, and they had plenty of PS4's on the shelf. Not a single Xbox One in sight though.
Because they just got XB1s to sell and haven't gotten new PS4s.Either MS have massive supply here, or PS4 is vastly more popular.
They're simply able to spin this specific statement because they only had 9 days in the month. 1 million consoles spread across 9 days is 110,000 per day. PS4 launched a week earlier so they have to add 7 more days to the average. Let's say hypothetically the PS4 sold 1.5 million in the U.S. That's 1.5 million across 16 days which is less than 100,000 per day. It's all about how many days you are able to divide into your huge initial preorder shipment to paint better numbers. NONE of these consoles were selling those kinds of numbers "per day". It's math manipulation for PR purposes.
The "average" rate for PS4 if we use the full 15 days it has been available, would be 84k per day.
The "average" rate for Xbone if we use only the 9 days it has been available, would 100k per day.
This is despite both their post launch rate being equal in reality, i.e. 17k/day, and even despite Xbone having a worse launch day.
On the other hand, if we were to adjust the number of days used for the calculation, using the first 9 days for both consoles:
the PS4 would be selling 128k per day instead
the XBOX would still be selling 100k per day

Don't forget to factor in the decreasing rotation of the Earth, which would favor Sony (the week before MS released would've had longer days in which to sell consoles).

In order to climb in the list, it needs more units to be available. The numbers are based on sales, not popularity, and it's updated hourly. If amazon hasn't had PS4s to sell, then it's going to drop.
Unfortunately, nobody here knows how many units are available to sell for either system. What we do know is that both are not sold out and both can be found at retail.
Can't imagine anyone arguing with that statement.Point being, if you happen to see some on the shelf....that is not an indication that it's not selling.
No offense to red heads or step kids...but the Wii U is red headed bastard step child of this console race.Unless talking about the Wii U.
To be fair, I have barely seen it available on Amazon since launch.http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames/ref=zg_bs_nav_0?tag=viglink129408-20

The metrics were 3:1 or 4:1 pre-DRM 180, a distinction I've pointed out many times that continues to be ignored. It changed to 2:1 post-180. It hasn't been 3:1 or 4:1 for a long time, but that doesn't stop posters like "intellivision" from flagrantly lying about "all the polls said 4:1 and they were wrong!".
PS4 selling 2:1 means 66%/33% marketshare. That's close to what global sales look like right now and close to what most business analysts, vgcharts, and reasonable people have been predicting. MS apparently sold 2 mil globally and PS4 is likely closing on 3 mil.
The metrics continue to be accurate despite people's inability to comprehend them and despite the childish insults and behavior in this thread towards me. Blatant, obvious insults, trolling, false accusations, and strawmen are par for the course on this forum, though.
They're still supply constrained for the most part. Nobody reasonable looks at "sales per day" in a supply constrained launch, it's a meaningless PR figure. Global sales are the most accurate, not cherry picking countries where one sold more than the other or # of countries launched in. MS is trying to put most supply in the largest markets while Sony is more spread out, that's all.
"I'm waiting for Consolewarz to tell us that 'this doesn't go along with the current metrics I have seen'" It does go with the metrics for the most part, but you failed to comprehend them and construct imaginary strawmen instead.
"But...but Patcher said they wouldn't sell????" You knowingly and repeatedly make trollish false accusations and strawman attacks. You did the exact same malicious trolling in this thread yesterday.
First it's 3:1 or 4:1. Then somehow it's 2:1? Now your claim of PS4 is at 3M and X1 is at 2M.... (and that assumes PS4 sold 900k more systems in the past week and a half as Sony said they were at 2.1M on Dec 1) making it a 3:2 ratio (1.5:1). And considering PS4 is supposedly super sold out everywhere, I highly doubt PS4 has sold 900k in a week and a half. PS4 is likely at somewhere around 2.4 or 2.5M tops. The metrics were 3:1 or 4:1 pre-DRM 180, a distinction I've pointed out many times that continues to be ignored. It changed to 2:1 post-180. I just explained why the pre-launch metrics changed from 4:1 to 2:1. You're incapable or unwilling of reading, deliberately ignoring what people just typed to you and saying "somehow it's 2:1?" like it wasn't just explained to you.First it's 3:1 or 4:1. Your almighty online poll ratios are slipping consolewarz. Make up your mind which ratio you think is the uber ratio to stand by to make PS4 the winner. You've been flip flopping every week as more data releases. lol
At this rate, come X-mas time the ultimate PS4 winning ratio will be at 1:1.
You make false accusations about "flip flopping" and spend hours writing inaccurate Nelsonomics math PR spin that convinces nobody but posters like Flynn.
You do realize that, in order for the PS4 to be outselling the Xbox One 2 to one, it would need to have sold more than four and a quarter million by now, right?I just explained why the pre-launch metrics changed from 4:1 to 2:1. Yes PS4 is easily above 3 mil globally. There are shortages both due to higher demand, lack of supply, and wider global distribution. I expect an announcement of 3+ mil soon after the asian launch in a few days.
Your inability or refusal to comprehend reality isn't going to change it. You make false accusations about "flip flopping" and spend hours writing inaccurate Nelsonomics math PR spin that convinces nobody but posters like Flynn.
If you haven't noticed by this dudes post/responses within the last month he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. But his post and analogies are pretty entertaining. Lol. So far he had been a great replacement for puresoul. You do realize that, in order for the PS4 to be outselling the Xbox One 2 to one, it would need to have sold more than four and a quarter million by now, right?
