Current rumors about the next Windows - which I'm not calling Windows 9, because I somehow doubt that it will not be called so - state that, at least in desktop mode, it will bring start menu as default, and drop charms bar at the right side of the screen. I thought of the former as the continuation of start screen in Windows 8, but the latter was pretty hard to swallow, like, what does that even mean? After some thought, I realized it meant going back to Windows 7 altogether. I really didn't like it. There are things that charms bar and app list in the left side of the screen can do, which should be pushed further in Windows 9, and it's being dropped out completely in the next Windows in favor of older, worse interface. I understand it's necessary to bring back the Windows 8 naysayers / start menu paranoids, but seeing how Microsoft cannot force a change anymore to its users like they did with Vista/7 saddens me. I'm still wondering what about Windows 8 will still remain in the next windows, though.
