MS Surface

Anyone trying the W10 preview? Any good or is it best to wait for the official launch and hope any major bugs are sorted?

The 8.1 update messed up Xbox Music for a while and don't want to go through that again.
 
why dont MS just make a world phone like Google with their nexus phone that can go to any provider with all the radio built in?
 
I've been a Windows Phone owner for the last 3 years (920 first and now 1520). I personally love the phones. My only gripe is the lack of games and the camera on the 1520 can be pokey (compared to a new iPhone). Some of the 3rd party apps are way better than the first party (i.e. twitter, instagram) and since 8.1 hit, I don't have any huge negatives though Chase just retired their banking app for Windows Phone. I think MS needs to do a better job of getting the "really good and useful" apps to their system faster and keeping them there. Took forever to get a first party Instagram app and even the 3rd party came out way after it had been on iOS/Android....for instance. Overall a happy owner though.

Sure I read that MS are looking to get Android or something to do with it on WP which will apparently mean lots more apps. But I'm probably mixing it up with something else.

I don't doubt this at all. I hate these kinds of rivalries. I know even Apple and Microsoft have their differences too. I have an iPhone, and it means I have to use the iTunes program for Windows 8. iTunes on PC disasterful to use and borderline felony. It took me an hour just to find out how to un-minimize the iTunes player. You can't even export out import your photo library, and all of the flaws and bugs are around every corner. Apple did a very good job in making a terrible application for the competitor's platform. I dread it every time I have to interact with the software.
 
I downloaded it to my Lumia, it is a hoot takes me back to when I was kid in school in the 80s (we had MS-DOS and Win 3.1 machines in grade school).
 
Yeah its a nice little app for a laugh.

Pre ordered the MS Health Band as well which hits the UK next week.
 
No Imgur app but maybe soon.

Reports are MS will finally announce Android App support for WP. Not sure what that would mean for W10 if you can get all Android apps.
 
I'm going to be really torn between the 950xl and the iPhone 6s+ come fall.

Hopefully project astroia or whatever it's called get app devs to quickly port apps.
 
Look fugly imo. they should have kept the nokia personnel that designed phones.
 
Look like any generic phone. Definitely not jaw dropping but also not "fugly" unless you're trying hard...

Jesus, up to a 2TB MicroSD? I didn't even know they made ones that big. Anyone know if I'd be able to use this phone with Verizon Wireless? Does the Microsoft Store offer extended warranties/insurance?

Being with Verizon is the only bad part of my Windows Phone owenership. They never get the flagship phones. Msft and Vz have the worst relationship with each other and it sucks. I wound up getting the HTC Windows One M8 phone because the best of what they had to offer was the Lumia Icon which essentially was s***. I wish VZ would just allow me to buy a phone from the Microsoft Store and activate it on their network. It really sucks that I can't.
 
Microsoft should drop the Lumia branding for their premium phones and instead call it Surface
 
The 950XL will be mine. MS need to stop making their phones exclusive to providers. Just make them available to as many as possible.
 
I got the email this morning about their event tomorrow. The email had a Hololens header. They seemed to be excited about it.
