People can fly has to take serious blame to for sales to nose dive. Serious stuff like the inventory wipe. By the time ( like a month or so) people has already moved on or people who heard of it gave up playing/ buying the game.
Also poorly designed end game, where there is no checkpoint system which is easpxially bad for solo, & for reason they refused to fix.

Don't forget the torrid first week or so of connection issues it was so bad.

It is only launch week physical in the UK, actually surprised that Xbox was so close in a couple games. Feel sorry for all those who brought D&D what a terribly mediocre game.

I've noticed the trend that launch time was closest with 60/40 for the PS favour maybe because of launch hype the first 2-3 months people were buying everything and as the year went on, it started skewing towards 70/30, 80/20 and even 90+ for the PS in several titles. Quite interesting really.

Not really. Series X is harder to get so people are being pushed towards the S in that sense which is digital only. Again UK charts are 100% pointless now until they tell the whole picture.

No they are waiting or getting a PS5.

xss sits on store shelfs.
XSX I never saw on a shelf and paid a premium to get a 2nd one.

Do we know the sales splits between XSX and XSS on a global basis? Just to see which is actually getting manufactured and produced more?

For all we know, people could just be wanting the XSX and not buying the XSS that's why there's more inventory. We just don't have enough information to make the conclusion that "oh, XSS is selling more so that's why physical sales are less" other the fact that XSS is selling out slower than the XSX.

Not so much in the UK. Sells out after a week or so normally. X and PS5 sell out in 5 minutes

40% of new Xbox gamers are buying the XSS according to MS.

So far in 2021, the XSS is selling more than the Series X at Amazon:

and sold out at Target:

and sold out at Walmart:

and sold out at Gamestop:

and sold out at Amazon:

Amazon product

Unless you want to pay the mark up from the third parties that are also bundling.

With that split, I'd say it's a combination of the sales split and GP playing as much a role in the lesser sales especially when it's day 1 on the subscription.

Many things sell out the current stock.

Them selling 40% with so many available is pretty bad as much more xss are being made.

Next time I see one in person I will take a picture.

Never said they can't be found. Just saying they are selling out quickly still. Which is a good thing. A lot of stock which sells out means great sales.

Are they really making more XSS? Doesn't make much sense being the less popular console.

My understanding is that it's a different assembly line and the parts are different. Apparently the parts are easier to obtain for production than the XSX with all the shortages out there.
