I want to pre-order this on PC but I have to be careful of my financials. For some reason, I'm not as interested in the beta as I was with BF3...probably because I know what it'll play like already and I can simply wait for the full release.

The latest MP trailer was indeed awesome and filled with a lot of scenes from the other maps, and they look great!
 
Will there be a mod that allows you to wear polarized sunglasses? I hated BF3 because of the sun glare.
 
Is anyone getting the current gen version or is everyone holding out for the next gen one?

thats why i stopped playing it. I understand the sun shines...i have a hard time believing the characters arent able to atleast wear a visor lol.

Not sure yet. I'm considering it just to get a couple weeks of leveling in, but I'm not sure which system I'd get it for, since I"m not sure which next gen system I'll play the game on primarily. Would also be nice to have a slight advantage in map familiarity than the competition when it's released on next gen systems a few weeks later. Mainly, I'd just like to be able to see and appreciate the difference in graphics and gameplay between present gen consoles and the next gen console versions.

We'll see, sorta depends on how much I'm still playing GTA Online at the time.

Are there friends that you have that will play on a particular platform? I'd say go where your friends are. If not, and you're just looking at which platform has the most players, I'd say PS3/4. If this gen is any indication of how next gen will be in regards to BF, there's usually more than double the amount of PS3 players at any given moment than on 360.
Me personally, I'd go where the bigger community is at.

I'm just saying that I'm liking getting it for both next gen systems because of friends getting it on both, so I'm not sure which I'll spend the majority of my time playing on yet. I bought both last time, and only ever played on 360, because I had a ton of friends playing on 360. I have the PS4 version preordered at the moment, in the assumption it will look better. Who knows though, that's a major crap shoot.

If only your Battlelog progression was the same across all platforms. That was the main reason I never opened my PS3 copy, didn't want to have to start from the beginning again.

Yeah, this next generation, I'm going to stick to one platform for BF4. I played BF3 on multiplat and it just stunted my progression. I need to dedicate myself to just one system for this game to keep from ranking up across multiple systems.
 
I think i'm going strictly BF next gen. I'm COD'ed out. With that being said, PS4 version confirmed. I hope it looks near the PC quality we've seen.
 
Will be getting this for the PS4 on Christmas, along with Pokemon X. Can't wait. I'm sure I'll pick up the season pass too.

First off let me address the previous rumors or critisisms about the PS4 version. There's just nothing to criticize. This is coming from someone who couldn't stand the PS3 version of BF3. I have no idea what resolution the game was running at on the PS4, but it looked as good or better than BF3 on my PC, and ran at a smooth 60 fps looking amazing the entire time I played. I saw no sign of low quality textures or any issues at all. And while I'm sure high end PCs running the game at 1080p or higher will ultimately look better when you nit pick, there's nothing to complain about here. The game looks and plays like Battlefield on the PC, and that's great news.

I notice that reload and pickup aren't the same button any more. Good news there!

Also, the crouch / prone / stand / melee buttons are COD style now (also good). Spot is in a great place as well.
 
Can you "upgrade" from the current gen version to next gen (PS4/XB1) for $10 or some other nominal fee?
 
Some early impressions say it's a great game but it feels like BF3.5 than a completely new BF game.
