Until most games can sustain that framerate and be enjoyed on most tv's it kind of is, most people don't have true 120hz tv's even though they think they do.No 120fps is not a gimmick.

Yeah, I have no idea to be honest lol
But I'm having a hard time seeing why they spend that money and still keep pumping out games for the rival platform...I guess you could say they don't want to lose sales, but if that was the case, wouldn't they already be shipping their first party games to playstation?
I definitely see them putting the games out on steam etc, or perhaps try to force epic and valve to go Gamepass or nothing.
I just can't see them putting the games on playstation (except ESO and Fallout 76 that already have a gathering). Streaming on nintendo console prob will happen though.

LolOk, so it may be a gimmick on consoles but it's not in general, on PC.
I think you are missing the joke. What i said are some of the common complaints about REAL triggers on firearms. I wouldn't actually expect the controllers to fell like a good, high quality, real trigger.I would say it's more intentional and software related to mimic pulling a real trigger.
Ok, so it may be a gimmick on consoles but it's not in general, on PC.
So is 120 hz going to be more of a standard across the board eventually? I mean for TVs, media/movies, etc?
Or will it stay more of a niche gaming thing?

When you already have the most popular game running it you can be sure most fps games will have the option. So is 120 hz going to be more of a standard across the board eventually? I mean for TVs, media/movies, etc?

Those people displays and yours don't support the new standards HDMI 2.1 is bringing and displays that do support can be purchased for great starting prices.I think 144hz and 240hz are more popular on the PC. I don't know many people who still play at 120hz. All the new monitors are going 144hz+. Hell my BenQ XL2720z I bought a long time ago is 144hz.
Most people don’t have 4K TVs either.Until most games can sustain that framerate and be enjoyed on most tv's it kind of is, most people don't have true 120hz tv's even though they think they do.

Console gaming will make 120fps gaming even bigger.
It was early until COD and R6 got 120fps modes.Maybe. Time will tell. Just think it's a little early. 4k/60 isn't even the standard yet. People are still only starting to upgrade to 4K tv's, let alone ones that can support 120hz and VRR. I still believe most new titles will be targeting dynamic 4k / 60 fps in the near future.
Yeah PC players tend to be more concerned about those really high framerates and often lower their res and graphical settings to hit it so yeah it's not a gimmick there it's a real option, not one I'd go for personally as I'd rather have the higher graphical fidelity but everyone can make their own choice.Ok, so it may be a gimmick on consoles but it's not in general, on PC.
When it comes to TV's I hope we start seeing 12bit panels at some point soon, it'll make HDR that much more impressive. It was early until COD and R6 got 120fps modes.
Most new TV purchases are 4K TV's.
Not many have 120fps enabled se(only a few models are available)ts but with the demand comes the product.
2021 MANY more sets will be available along with more support in upcoming game announcements.
They still can target 4K/60 and use 1080p/1440p upscaled to 4K @120fps.
Dynamic HDR of the HDMI 2.1 spec should be pretty good. When it comes to TV's I hope we start seeing 12bit panels at some point soon, it'll make HDR that much more impressive.
I don't see why it wouldn't be option on all future FPS games going forward.Maybe. Time will tell. Just think it's a little early. 4k/60 isn't even the standard yet. except the sense you’re getting here is that PlayStation 5 spec wise is punching above its weight, and something is up with Xbox — which on paper at least should be significantly ahead,” adds Leadbetter in the Digital Foundry analysis.
Yeah it sounds like there is still work to be done according to this:
DF isn’t tho. He quoted DF.That warren fella is an Xbox fanboy.
Exactly when the 3rd party advantage is actually a disadvantage....the "exclusive" games can't come soon enough."Ultimately, it’s the games that matter and Microsoft’s launch lineup has relied heavily on third-party games that aren’t backing up its performance claims. The Xbox Series X has been great at backward compatibility, accessibility, and accessory support, but Microsoft still needs to deliver more games from its Xbox Game Studios to really show the power of the console."
So true. 2021 will be a better year for the Xbox Series as devs get better with the GDK. Same with Sony, can't wait to see some of their heavy first party hitters in 2021. God of War Ragnarok, Ratchet and Clank and Horizon 2, I'm looking at you guys.
