LEGENDARY SERIES X AND PS5 DISCUSSION WITH MOAR JACKIE CHAN AND GUYS COMFORTABLE WITH THEIR SEXUALITY! !

Just having fun debates here. Granted, I lost my s*** with Shawn, because all he does is lie, so I ended up deleting my post that called him a name, as Showers rung my little neck for it :)

Headline is kind of extreme
"The Series X is the first major console release that feels like a small step for gaming, rather than a giant leap. Sure, loading times are lightning-quick; framerates are largely superb; dynamic lighting is on a whole new level. But has it delivered anything close to the awesome experience I built up in my head?

Nah. It just feels like a better Xbox One X."

.....

"For one, Quick Resume, which allows for the suspension of up to three games, is currently more of a hindrance than a help. When it works, it’s absolutely fantastic, but it regularly doesn’t. The biggest victims are those games that rely on a constant internet connection because Quick Resume almost always disconnects them from servers, never to reconnect. "

.....

"Halo Infinite is infinitely delayed, and even upon release, it’ll be the last standalone game in the series for a decade. Other games like Fable, State of Decay 3 and Forza are planned, but lacking solid release dates. Most of the rest of the hyped “exclusives”, like Psychonauts 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, are simply being released earlier on the Series X: the stupidest marketing ploy in gaming, whoever’s doing it.

Meanwhile, Sony will release the likes of Horizon Forbidden West, God of War 2, and Gran Turismo 7 during 2021: all killer apps in their own right, and three more reasons I’ll be getting a PS5 when stock finally returns to stores."

........

"
Thanks to my long-standing relationship with Microsoft, I’ve got hundreds of games that now look and play better than ever, another two years of the excellent Game Pass service, and endless peripherals. And yet, just weeks after dropping half a grand on a Series X, I can’t shake the feeling that this console purchase was one of inevitability, not excitement–or even necessity.

A lot of this isn’t just the fault of the Series X. Maybe I’m finally too old to share the same exhilaration I did when I was younger and (more) stupid; perhaps I’m just expecting too much from modern technology which, by and large, does things I could have never dreamt of even ten years ago.

But without any real initial spark, and not much shining on the horizon, it’s not looking too exciting for the latest Xbox; just disappointing. After years of dominance in my own gaming life, one thing’s possible: the Series X may not be my number one come this time in 2021."

He knew what he was getting when he f***ing purchased it. So basically purchase it and then write a hit piece about it.

I assume his next article will be:

Why The PlayStation 5 Is 2020’s Other Biggest Gaming Disappointment

If lack of games is a concern.

Doubt it. My whole point is we know Xbox is lacking exclusives. Can't escape the onslaught of stories and forum wars about it for the past few years so all this article is doing is pouring lighter fluid on an already burning fire. It's so tiresome.

Funny thing is is I hardly play exclusive games anyway and if I do then whoopty f***ing do.

Besides the Miles Morales DLC (which I have completed pretty much every possible nook and cranny of the game), it's pretty dismal for me. The only other game that I am looking forward to, which I assume will be 2022 is Gran Turismo 7.

I am super stoked about Halo Infinite, assuming it's out this spring.

I mostly play multiplatform games like you, not one for "exclusives" just because it says "exclusive". My real life friends and family all play on Xbox...you know, the usual COD, Forte Nite, GTA, Ghost Recon. So since friends and family have the console, I will just stick with my multiplatform games there. I bought COD Cold War originally on PS5, because a friend at work got it on his PS5, and parties with cross platform games via Activision isn't a thing. But I ended up buying it AGAIN, but for my XSX, because friends and family are on that platform playing. So yes, I spent $140 for the new COD. f***ing YIKES.

A good example of a "IMO":

Ghost Recon Wildlands is "substantially" more fun to play than God of War and Gears of War. Sure, I will have my PS and play God of War, it's fun. I will have my Xbox to play Gear of War, it's fun. But what I really want are the GREAT games (again IMO) like Ghost Recon, Battlefield, Witcher 3, etc.

It's funny, my son has his preferred console playstation in his room and my daughter has her preferred console Nintendo in her room and I visit each of their rooms to play the games. I'm a huge God of War fan so and my daughter and I get into competitive racing with Mario Kart. But when it comes to multiplayer gaming it's Xbox for me as most of my friends are on that.

That's a valid complaint when launching a new game console no?
I think it is, but it's also not like old consoles where you couldn't play anything but what was made for the console. Stellar BC and free upgrades take a lot of sting out. It's more akin to getting a new PC than a new console in that aspect. I say PC and not graphics card because it's more than a new GPU.

They take the sting out if you don't already have a One X maybe and most don't but only a hand full of BC games actually got any real upgrades, a lot of them look really bad and yet many talk as if all of the BC games got those special "4K upgrades" that a few games got on One X. As far as the higher framerates that only happens if the game had an unlocked framerate but again people talk about it as if it's all games etc.

Those are all valid criticisms, it just seems silly that a console that's launching 7 years after the previous gen version seems rushed out the door when it comes to new games.

I know some are saying that people have been beating this horse to death when it comes to lack of quality exclusives but that's MS's fault for waiting so long to fix the problem, it didn't start with the Xbox One it started in the last few years of the 360 and just got worse with the Xbox One before they started trying to do something about it, people can blame corporate for that and it's likely true but that doesn't fix the problem now.

This idea that consoles NEED a big launch exclusive is sort of out the window when you literally can't find one to buy, and the exclusive lineups are super weak. It took me an hour and a half to get an XSX and I still have yet to find a PS5 in stock anywhere.

Ofcourse that is what it seems like. We knew this thing was essentially another mid gen refresh at launch. Anybody who expected anything else was deluding themselves.when the next gen games start to flow is when we will find out what this gen is all about for Xbox.

I will say Xbox needs a solid 2021. Playstation has 3 huge hitters planned.

I don't even know if 2021 is going to be solid for Xbox. 2022 more than likely.

No it isn't. Enthusiasts will buy regardless, but where is all the hype? Nowhere.
