“The difference is so small that I honestly wouldn’t even call it a difference,”

It'll be a studio difference between titles primarily. Both consoles should produce some nice looking games. I personally can't wait to see what future PS exclusives will look like. Sony's got a great track record pushing visuals from last gen through their exclusives.

Same. I can't wait to see what MS's new studios create as well.

It wasn't a big deal that the PS5 couldn't do INT4/INT8 ML instructions when AMD didn't have their AI upscaling ready, but now that it's a few months away it looks like Sony might be in trouble.

All 3 versions need patches

Yeah, PS5 is supposedly getting a patch to up the res to 1800p , same as XSX as the developers had originally intended. For some reason the res was left at the same as PS4 pro at release.

They said the PS5 version is a solid 60fps overall except Sanctum of Flame where there is drops "for a couple of seconds" which is where that screenshot is from. Otherwise, occasional one to two frame dips. There are no tearing or streaming issues in the PS5 version.

XSX also 60fps most of the time, but there is adaptive screen tearing which isn't in the PS5 version. Noticeable drops in fps when running between areas. "non-issue on PS5". In combat, no problem but transitioning between areas, yes. There is also more texture pop-in on XSX and XSS than PS5. The Sanctum of Flame area does not suffer in the drop in frames like PS5 does, but that is the exception overall. Hoping to get patch to fix streaming, texture pop in and tearing issues.

XSS ranges from 30-60fps, unlocked frame rate. Doesn't feel as responsive as the other 2 because of the big disparity in fps. Supposedly getting patch to try to fix fps issues.

Will be interesting to see how all 3 fare after.

I actually went ahead and bought this as it's only 30 bucks and 5 gigs. I'm liking it so far. I actually like it more than the bit of the dark souls games so far as well, though it is a rip off. I like the gameplay twists as well as the aesthetic. I can't stand the wonky human proportions in DS

Here's an interesting video from DF saying that game developers these days may not be as uptight about resolution as some gamers may be.

He calls it the "post-resolution" era of gaming where he discusses 4K temporal reconstruction/native 4K resolutions differences and how it may be more beneficial to place the GPU power towards the visual fidelity department rather than native 4K. Pretty interesting.

Resolution only counts when ps5 takes a lead, right Shawn?
Also, PS5 fps drop is a non issue.
Xsx is an issue though?

What. That video was for this generation of games in general.

Why are you bringing any of that up? Stop trying so hard lol
