You don't find why different games have different resolutions/performances where PS5 sometimes have the upper hand and XSX has the other times interesting especially when XSX is supposed to be more powerful everytime?
No. Because the answer is always something other than hardware. Dev talent, dev choices, engines, etc. Nothing new here.

No. I'm saying it is the same thing different gen.

XSX is more powerful, end of. All the console war spinning over these analysis videos doesn't change that. Just accept it and move on. Fighting over 5FPS or a 300P is just ridiculous.

I know the XSX is supposed to be on paper but the results we have seen so far suggest they are much closer than we thought. PS5 has been coming ahead in Dirt 5, Valhalla, COD, Fenyx, Control, NBA 2K21 and all of them seems to fall on better performance as the general advantage. Xbox has the advantage in resolution in some games like Hitman 3, Outriders demo but the performance is not as optimized as the PS5's. My theory is that the higher clocked frequency on the PS5 helps it sustain the performance while the higher amount of CUs that the XSX has potentially gives it the resolution advantage in some titles at the cost of performance. The funny thing is that's not always the case. That's why I find these TA videos interesting. What's the real reason behind this parity?

Last gen, there was a clear difference, this gen, it's not so clear from the games we've seen so far, at least in terms of new ones. BC titles, Xbox definitely has the advantage there.

The PS5 could probably do the same resolution as Xbox's but at the cost of performance, just like what the Xbox is displaying. The PS5 is the most optimized version for 60fps right now in the demo at least.

There's a 1.72 theoretical tflops difference, not 3. Comes out to be about 16.7%. The only advantage that I've seen so far is resolution but then Xbox's performance takes a hit so clearly there are some tradeoffs for that.

Okay, last gen or current, it's just a label. They are all newly released games. There's no universal definition for next-gen or last gen so no point debating over that.

That's your interpretation of it. From your previous post, you can't even tell or feel the difference when the fps drops to the 40's on the XSS so I'm not surprised you would say that. It is not a nothing difference, it's only a nothing difference to you because you can't tell what's 40 and what's 60 fps. You probably don't notice the frame pacing hiccups/issues either, am I right? Just because you can't feel it doesn't mean it's not there because there are others that can actually feel and see the difference.

After playing the Outriders demo on both the XSX and PS5. I can confirm that I've noticed no differences between the two. But my brain doesn't have an internal FPS counter. :wink:

That is what the DF video had (54), but maybe another video showed differently. The PS5 also dropped to 59 at a few points, so both are basically unplayable.
Hate to be the nerd here, technically 59fps can be 60fps, so is 61.

"Fixed" integer fps is a round off of a float number, & +/- one in FPS reading is normal. Doesn't neccesary means frame drops.

The only resolution found on PS5 was 2560x1440.

Xbox Series S uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being approximately 2304x1296 and the lowest native resolution found being approximately 2080x1170. Native resolution pixel counts at 2080x1170 seem to be common on Xbox Series S. On Xbox Series S a form of temporal reconstruction is used to increase the resolution up to 3200x1800.

Xbox Series X uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 3200x1800 and the lowest native resolution found being approximately 2560x1440. Native resolution pixel counts at or near 3200x1800 seem to be common on Xbox Series X. On Xbox Series X a form of temporal reconstruction is used to increase the resolution up to 3200x1800 when rendering natively below this resolution.

All three consoles render the UI at 3840x2160.

Texture streaming is faster on PS5 than Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, more pop-ins for Xbox. Also more tearing on the Xbox.
