I would rather play games that interest me. I never go by metascore, ever.

Same with movies.

What I love is “OMG Miles Morales is the best eva”

Score: 85

then “OMG Halo 5 sucks balls close down 343”

Score: 84

Scores count when?
Neither are critically acclaimed scores.
LOL @ Halo 5 having a 3 hour DLC rate better.

Also 343's 1st 2 Halo's offerings come short of Bungies 1st 2 offerings.

I’m referring mainly to how Metacritic categorizes ratings and already stated their ratings often do not reflect general user opinion.
User opinions as in user reviews? Those are even less trustworthy as people just troll them.

And most games don't get trolled and end up with similar scores anyway.

You mean until they change that rating post launch. You would think a proffessional reviewer would get it right the first time.

More often than not, the critically acclaimed games are usually enjoyable at least from my experience. That's the same with movies. Of course everyone will have a different experience with each entertainment piece like you can like a badly rated movie or something or you can hate a critically acclaimed movie or game.

Point is when a game or movie is critically acclaimed, there's a good reason for it whether that is art direction, story, technical aspects, acting etc. and this includes movies and games.

I strongly disagree when it comes to movies and music in a lot of cases.

I love Halo. But that’s besides the point. Just talking about scores. Scores matter when it’s convenient.

You could just save time and assume that in the console warz, _______ only matters when it's convenient is built into every argument.

Haptic feedback on the controller, past and potential future exclusive blockbusters was the tipping point in favour for Sony for this author. Also agreed with the mindset that PC/PS seems to be the best gaming combo to gain access to both worlds.

After the testing dust settled, a clear winner emerged in Sony’s PlayStation 5. Because the two consoles have similar technical guts, choosing a winner, for us, came down to the available catalog of games, and what was in store for the future. Compared with the Microsoft Xbox Series X, the PlayStation’s past and promised future games make a compelling case for owning the machine.

It is worth stressing that both systems are excellent. As much as Sony or Microsoft might want to claim the units are vastly different technological achievements, they aren’t so much, for most people. Both display stunning 4K graphics, have real-time ray tracing that makes games look more realistic and solid-state storage, and so on. The biggest difference is in Sony’s controller, which has haptic feedback built into its triggers; the function creates a feeling of resistance that coincides with the game’s action. It’s certainly neat if a game uses the feature, but many of the games Barron’s tried didn’t offer it.

What ultimately tipped the scales for Barron’s was PlayStation’s high-quality back catalog of exclusive games built for the PlayStation 4, many of which have been updated for the PS5. Such a strong record of success suggests the promise of another batch of games over the PlayStation 5’s lifetime.

For many current PlayStation 4 owners, an upgrade to the PS5 is likely a question of when, not if. For people willing to spend lots of money, buying a high-powered videogame personal computer and a PlayStation 5 will unlock access to most games available for either system, including the Xbox exclusives, which usually appear on PC too. But for anyone buying one console, or buying a system for the first time, the PlayStation 5 is the best choice. It’s a call option on Sony’s future games. That is, if you can find one.

It could break your controllers.

I’ll be honest, I wish she had posted the persons account/SN, people don’t deserve to be treated the way she does. I’m pretty sure Phl, Cory and other people running the BTS get messages like that all the time.
I hope she reported them to authorities
