"Elon Musk has stated that the new Tesla Model S Plaid is similar to the PlayStation 5 in power and can run high-end AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077. Elon Musk has been heavily teasing this over the last several months, but many weren't sure how a car would be able to run a game like Cyberpunk 2077 or really why anyone would want to.

"Elon Musk showcased CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 running at 60FPS on the new Tesla Model S Plaid, noting it has a "PS5 level performance".

Earlier this year Elon Musk revealed that the new Tesla Model S could play Cyberpunk 2077. It sounds like a dream come true, given people have almost always been limited to the power of their handhelds or have to find a way to rig up their console in a minivan or SUV. Tesla has streamlined the experience by essentially building its own gaming platform into the car and although there are some things that are unclear (like its OS, what other games it'll have, etc), it does have the power of a PS5."

"AMD has confirmed that Tesla is using its new RDNA 2 GPUs in the new backseat entertainment system in the new Model S and Model X vehicles."

"The chipmaker confirmed that the new technology not only powers the popular Sony Playstation 5 but also Tesla’s new gaming computer in the new Model S and Model X."

AMD RDNA™ 2 architecture is the foundation for next-generation PC gaming graphics, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X consoles. The groundbreaking RDNA architecture was first introduced at E3 2019, and since then has continuously evolved to spearhead the next generation of high performance gaming. It’s the DNA that powers your games, the DNA that brings your games to life, the DNA that keeps evolving.

Sony didn’t “simply incorporate” an AMD RDNA 2 GPU into the PS5, it helped build it

Disappointed in you Rollins you keep following desperate butthurt fanboys.

Apparently AMD (who built RDNA 2), Cerny and Sony (who built the PS5) aren't trusted sources around here.

Travel industries definitely got hit the worse from COVID. Hotels, cruises, airlines etc.

Hope you guys recover.

But back on topic, there are thousands of game studios that are hit by COVID around the world, 343 Industries started development around what, 2015 or earlier?

On top of that, they are heavily supported by MS and have like 750+ employees, double, triple, even up to 7x more employees than other game studios (didn't the Medium have only 100 employees or something?). You really giving them a pass?

I’m not making an excuse, but (to the bed of my feint recollection) Kiki Wolfkill did come out and say that the first two out three years we spent developing the new engine. I’m sure production had started even before then though, as Frankie did say they had the story all planned out…even though they lost actor Mike Colter to Marvel and had new guy fill in all his dialogue for the game. So I guess I’m getting to what I feel may have been their biggest loss was studio time with all the actors for voice, motion and facial capturing and other cinematic stuff they needed in the lots they used in Hollywood…oh and audio time at Skywalker Ranch. I think since four they had been using the same lots and facial tech/cameras that they used for avatar. Shoot they may have had to even wait on said cameras because of the current Avatar productions.

I’m just speculating/guessing…*edit to add what i forgot lol….so anything where tons of people need to be around, near the tail end/finalization of a big triple a title could have been an impact from the pandemic when we were all sent home. Ubisoft kinda gets around it by having all their world wide studios work on one project at a time and support

RDNA 3?
Pentium G4400

I you overclock a toaster, that doesn't make it a GPU. If you overclock a 3080TI, it doesn't become RDNA 2. It's an architecture, and if you implement the specification then it's RDNA2, and if you don't it's not. Both of these consoles have custom variants and depending how you interpret it, Sony either didn't want to wait for the full RDNA2 feature set or left off parts that they didn't feel were relevant for consoles. Microsoft did wait and implemented the full RDNA 2 spec in hardware and has flat out said:
Xbox Series X|S are the only next-generation consoles with full hardware support for all the RDNA 2 capabilities AMD showcased today.
from: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/10...s-xs-integrates-full-amd-rdna-2-architecture/

I bolded the part that is relevant. If the stuff Sony left off isn't significant or they can do it well enough in software, it won't matter a hill of beans. If it's fairly significant, once games are architected for the new platforms rather than cross-gen, those differences may start to show up.

PS5 runs at RDNA 2 speeds.
XSX runs @ RDNA 1 speeds.
yawn

You can bold all you want I posted the facts and the facts of what AMD said.

A Pentium from 2015 runs at 150% of RDNA 2 speeds. Is it RDNA 3?

There was zero mention of MP at all last year. Nothing. Not even any hint of what it might be. How many players, modes, anything? There was nothing.

I doubt that game was ever going to release with or without the backlash. If it was going to come out, it would have been single player only. I doubt they were ever going to do that.

People are acting like the backlash was the only indication we had of problems.

Like so many game companies, they thought that ignoring the obvious would be the best way forward. I think they knew that game was never going to release that year. They wanted to get through E3 with positive press, and of course like all things it backfired on them. That E3 should have been about the XSX and not Halo which wasn't going to come out anyway, and it would have been better for MS.

They should have released another CGI trailer and just been honest about the delay.

If they just needed to enhance the graphics, that wouldn't take an entire calendar year.

Heck, people will hate on whatever they do this year too. That doesn't mean the game is going to delay again.
There were signs all along, the fact that important people kept leaving the project before we even saw anything was a red flag but always downplayed. I do believe if the backlash hadn't happened that hey would have released the single player portion of the game at launch and left the MP for after. The MP is free to play and the story campaign isn't so they are basically separate packages anyway.

Why do people keep over thinking this s***? Make good games and people will buy your stuff it's not that complicated. Stop trying to make me the center of the living room or second screen, connected 24/7 blah blah blah lol. It sounds so much like s*** people say in boardrooms, they use a bunch of buzz words and then spend a ton of money doing something that doesn't work.

If MS had been as dedicated to actually making games as they are trying to come up with all of this silly marketing nonsense to try to get you to give them money when they aren't actually providing you with anything new xbox would be far more popular. It's like a kid who works twice as hard to get out of doing his homework as he would if he had actually just done the assignment.

They mentioned MP last year.
They said it was F2P and up to 120 fps.

You guys who hate the streaming and subscription stuff are going to have a really tough time as the generation progresses. Even Sony will be getting into it.

Also the words coming from the head of a 2 trillion dollar corporation aren't marketing words. They're spending 10's of billions on gaming to shift the paradigm and lead it. Even if they had their best console generation ever and sold 100 million consoles, it wouldn't justify this investment.

Exactly what I was saying. COVID or not, Halo Infinite was not going to be ready either way.

According to Xboxygen sources, Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode will be the most advanced to ever appear in an episode of the series.
You can really see this one as a game of its own, a complete entity of unparalleled richness in the series. Remember that the multiplayer mode will be officially free, and that it will offer a framerate of up to 120 FPS.
This is not a rumor, but a confirmation from Microsoft that took place last summer. The game continues to improve month after month, and one of our sources said she was impressed with the progress the teams have made in recent times.
She told us that COVID or not, the game would have been delayed anyway given the work that remained to be done when it was presented last summer.Either way, expect all the great things about Halo multiplayer, and more.
The game is also in continuous development with new features released by the developers every week.

They are marketing buzz words when they've been trying to do the same thing 2 or 3 different ways for years and had limited success. If you want some big corporation that made it's money basically being a monopoly and buying out or squashing competition in other areas to take over gaming by buying it out instead of actually convincing people that their way is better you've got problems.
