Surely they’ve had plenty of time to test some and at least tell you what particular SSD’s at least work. Not to give you a list of specs and say go spend $250 + and if it doesn’t work it’s nothing to do with us. I’m sorry but that’s just not good enough.

So giving you the option to choose which SSD you want is a bad thing now?

I thought people were all about options here.

Also, this is an optional thing. You are not required to swap your SSD if you don't feel comfortable. You can swap it if you feel confident and tech-y enough and have done your research. Besides, I'm sure when this is all official, you will get a list of all the budget, mid tier or high tier compatible SSD's being recommended all over social media and reviewers like DF. Like, I'm already fairly confident I can do this swap just by reading the very detailed instructions. I will probably supplement it with a YouTube video if anything before actually doing it myself.

Like all things you can buy, people will pay more for convenience for a lesser product. For example, compared to pre-built PC's, it is almost always cheaper and better to buy your own parts and build it because you know exactly what quality and parts you are putting into your PC build. I see Sony's SSD options and DIY replacement the same. Pay less and get better quality SSD's in terms of $/performance but in return you need to have done your research and be hands-on techy enough to be confident in replacing the SSD. Just like building your own PC.

The average Joe will probably like paying more for convenience compared to others who would not mind the research/DIY to save more money and getting exactly the SSD model you want in your console.

That's an option of how you upgrade storage, personally I'm fine paying a lot less for external storage and transferring games back and forth for now. You can get 4TB-5TB external HDD's for around $100, it doesn't make sense to pay over $200 for 1TB, how often do you need to have more than 10-12 games ready to go at one time anyway? If you want a little bit better transfer speeds or slightly better performance when playing old games from the external drive you can find 2TB external SSD's for a little over $100, either way if you are playing a lot of old titles you don't need to play them from the built in SSD's on either console, you can save that storage for new games. I have had 17 games loaded on my PS5 at times and that should be plenty for anyone.

There is a trend forming here...

First next gen looking Xbox exclusive launched after 9 months - "graphics contests are over!"

Replacement M.2 SSD's just starting in beta - "what a s*** show!"

Having said that, I would have thought Sony could have the replacement SSD thing ironed out for launch like the PS4 but I guess the fact it's a new tech has caused some issues.
I don't know what to say man, sometimes you win sometimes you lose.... And right now you're losing.

People need to stop being obsessed with winning or losing.

Its not whether you win of lose thats matters.

Its whether I win or not.

I don't know, man, seems like you're the one losing because you're trying so hard to win.

It's a win win for me because I have access to both Xbox and PS games.

With all the XSX power you guys have been boasting about, isn't it surprising your most recent two console exclusives don't have raytracing support right now? Something to think about 😉

I've never boasted about it, I'm just letting your small world of playstation get a bit of a bump.

Odd, very clearly remember you parading around the teraflops power of the Xbox and how "gimped" the PS5 is.

Well, I hope this brings you back to reality a bit from way up there in lala land 😋

It's true though, doesn't matter if you do your pirouettes or stealth troll. Honestly, you are entertaining... Not as much as you were before you changed your name here, but still

It's true yet PS5 has been showing the better RT support at 60fps already in their console exclusives since launch and pretty much on par with the XSX in multiplatforms. Not so gimped after all 😜

You're hard deflecting right now, Swede. It's cute.

So, with Horizon being delayed to 2022 what new exclusives does PS5 have for the rest of the year?
