LOL the same digital foundry that said PS4 would have 4gb's of ram.
That can obviously be changed late in the game. But an entire architecture? It’s not possible without serious delays and costs.
Again, it still looks like most of the rumors line up (not the fanboy BS going around since the X reveal): The PS5 was most likely supposed to have launched this year. All the Japanese leaks from earlier in the year, which I’ve posted, point repeatedly to this based on what’s supposedly inside.
For whatever reason, they’re waiting until next year, and since they can’t change the architecture, they are apparently trying to tweak what they have to work with, so they can get max performance out of it. Hence the overheating rumors.
Again, this is all speculation, but there is a lot of evidence to at least make this a consideration.
My personal opinion is still 10.2 TF at absolute max, and with OG RDNA. If that’s the case, it will be less powerful than the x, but also cheaper. It’s looking like it will be $399 vs the X at a likely $499.
And with a super talented dev team, I doubt the power difference will matter much in the end. I’ll just be curious to see how many people go with power over cost, if all this ends up being true.
GOW looks amazing, so I’m just keeping my PS4 for another couple of years, then I’ll pick up a 5 once they drop the price, and I’ll get all the big games cheaper.
