S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Twilight is this horrible creation that will haunt generations for years to come.

I haven't seen that clip..I did see the shower titanium scene though lol should I watch this movie?

I love the movie. It's your typical cliche underdog movie (think bring it on if you've ever seen that) with many pretty ladies, some good music and a few laughs (Rebel Wilson is particularly amusing). Still, the best part is the music so you could just youtube the music clips if you want.

Eliza Dushku and Kirsten Dunst and other good looking girls in tight outfits...of course I saw it lol

Oh...

On ABC, the second episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. earned a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating down 34 percent from last week’s 4.7.

So far the series is a big, meh. It's not horrible but there's nothing special about it either. And dropping cameos isn't going to save weak story writing.

The characters are pretty meh. It has the secret badass, a super hacker, the socially awkward geeks and to top it all off, the entirely original secret agent who prefers to work alone. Very original set of characters they have there. I want to love the show, but so far it all feels very... generic. The only thing that it has going for it is that it's set in the Marvel cinematic universe.

I liked the episode last night. I feel like it's settling in and we're starting to learn more about the characters. Will continue to watch for the time being.

Skye has been getting a lot attention lately, eh? ;) And I strongly believe that she's a "mole"!

I just watched a bit of the first episode. It's not bad and a lot of TV shows need time to hit their stride.

In what way?

It's nothing we haven't seen before in other shows in recent years. Heroes, Fringe, hell, even Smallville and Supernatural.

Show is uninspired and boring. They need to focus on the Marvel superhero universe, not on scientist buddies who invented a destructive device.

not sure if that's feasible. Don't think the budget would be there to do characters like Iron man, spiderman, thor, etc on a weekly TV show and not have it be cheesy, and since they are banking on those characters in the movie theater I'm guessing they don't want to do anything to damage interest in them.

Also I don't think that SHIELD being like any of those shows you mentioned is necessarily a bad thing ... most of them had nice long runs and were generally popular.

Good news, agents! ABC announced today that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been picked up for a full season. (Was there ever any doubt?)

The series opened as TV's highest-rated drama debut in nearly four years and ranks as the No. 1 new show of the fall season in the 18-49 demo. On average, S.H.I.E.L.D. is No. 1 in its Tuesday, 8pm slot, and has more than doubled the young adult delivery in the hour year-to-year (more than 150 percent). Although the press release doesn't specify, presumably this means Season 1 will account for a standard 22 episodes.

Can anyone give me an explaination of what "demo" means? I wonder how the "rate" works. Everytime I hear the news states "more than 3 million viewers!", I always asked myself "But how do they know? Do they even count me and my wife as two? Can they even see us through TV?!" Lol. I've alway wondered how it works....

I think they just count individual streams, not the people watching it but the number of TV sets watching it. The numbers come from the cable companies I think?

Although IIRC there is a company that specilizes in TV ratings and they give out these tracking boxes to a bunch of houses (like 2000) and then read the data for a particular show and extrapolate

Demo = demographic

Seven is right they give out devices called Nielson boxes to people and they track what they watch. They use it to extrapolate numbers based on statistics theory - in the same way elections and polls are projected based on a certain sample size.

If X1 sends TV viewing data, they would have more info than Nielson. That'd be crazy.

The third episode was better. I'm really hoping for some super villains though.

I also thought the third episode was better, will keep watching but so far it has been just okay for me.

Episode 3 was definitely an improvement, but that isn't saying much really. Going to give it a chance to settle, most shows need a season to really start to get into the swing of things.

This. As much as I love Buffy (and to a lesser extent, Angel) the first season was abysmal for the most part. Hell, the show didn't really take off until season 3, same for Angel.
