Official Thread The Division v. 2

Solo’ing I like using the 100 round light machine guns and sniper rifles. With the right LMG you can shred the better armored enemies and elites quick.

That's how I usually roll.

Finally got the talent that heals armor as you are in cover. That's real nice.

Yeah, it's outstanding. I have gotten it exactly once (it only rolls on kneepads and only some brands apparently), so I'm going to be wearing my GS 250 kneecaps with Patience and Hard Hitting (+15 damage to elites) into the third stronghold later tonight (after I swap over to my 376 GS loadout to be able to start the mission). Can't wait to start actually grinding for replacements - though, hey, menace-uk- : should I go ahead and do the remaining side missions and SHD tech caches before lvl 3 control points, or absolutely wait, or is it pretty much a wash?

I was mostly doing the same - I ran with a regular rifle for most encounters, focusing on pure bullet dmg and lining up headshots, and then an LMG (or occasionally an SMG) for guys who were getting close. I also kept a marksman rifle to open up encounters with a headshot when I had a lot of space and time available.

Other than that, just stay in cover (or move cover to cover) and prioritize. My general rule was to first focus on anyone who was coming up close, and then to prioritize medics (f*** the yellow Black Tusk medic in the invaded mission in the concert hall, incidentally!), then grenadiers and controllers. Unless I'm lining up a headshot kill when they aren't alerted, I tend to try to pick off the reds, then purple and yellow, because usually a few hits can kill the red if the first one or two are headshots, and that reduces the bullets flying back faster.

Weakspots are also the name of the game, especially with grenadiers (though you can also headshot them).
I prioritize the complete opposite way.In order...

1. Anyghing running at you or trying to flank.
2. Elites or veterans with the turrets.
3 veterans.

I probably need to dump my flame turret and find something better as well. What 2nd skill are solo people running? I've got the chem launcher with healing which is huge. Definitely thinking I need something to eat up armor as those are the ones taking me out almost every time.

I would do level 3 control points. Will give you more gear and a chance at blueprints.

Imo, in WT4 you should be doing the daily missions, level 3 checkpoints, bounties, they will give you best bang for your time.

You could try the DZ, I have barely touched it so don't know how lucrative it could be.

Reviver Hive.

Half the time that thing doesn't even work for me. I assume I just get too much damage before it even drops. I can try it again.

It works for me probably 80% of the time. I've seen talk that if you die right when you're activating your other skill or just after that it could cause problems - I know I am usually trying like hell to drop a chem heal if I think dying's on the cards. I dunno. I have been using that combo pretty consistently, though, but I may want to try something else in missions where there are checkpoints.

I went with a more aggressive build when I was playing solo. Rather than gear myself to stay alive I geared myself to attack and just assumed I’d die. I took the auto turret and chem launcher with oxide all the way to 30. It’s still one of my favorite load outs.

This is pretty much what I'm doing. I'm trying to build an aggressive type of agent.
I really had no intention of using a smg but i got a pp-19 that is awesome that I use for up close and personal fights. It goes through people like butter.

Alert 3 checkpoints seem to be a little beyond my skill right now, as are Hard bounties if the area is too open. Challenging missions too. Maybe once I can strengthen my equipment a little more (I haven't gotten a damn rifle other than the 1886 with a 5-round clip in probably 20 hours), but it seems like I'll be doing the daily hard mission, and maybe cleaning up some of the side missions and normal bounties I haven't done yet. Hopefully that'll just take a little while - I imagine with a couple of pieces of loot, I can step up to CP3s.

Anyone make a union vgf clan yet? I did a search in the game and nothing.

I just spent 10 minutes at the end of a mission looking for the final NPC to talk to. I'm walking all over the mission area looking for the right guy to talk to. Finally I find a dead body on the ground and that was it. Still passed the mission anyway :)

Did you pour some liqueur on the curb for your lost homeboy?

I'll join as soon as I get out of work

Or send an invite. GT: DTWICE

I might be able to jump back on tonight to join. Now that my equipment has improved a fair bit I can try a 3 alarm cp again and hopefully not suck.

Initiate control point. Kill pretty much every dude there through multiple waves, get the final boss down to quarter health only to get killed and have to respawn. Run like a mofo back to control point only to have NPCs standing around the now captured point and look at you like they have no f***ing clue who you are and then NOT give you the stash room key.
Gaaaahhhhh!

And I'm now at Gear level 409.

I'm now 30. When does gear score come in? I still have missions to work on.

Once you beat the main story missions you should unlock the Strongholds. They unlock one at a time I think. You then beat the three Stronghold missions and that activates WT1 automatically - then you see the gear score.
