The Order: 1886 screenshots and previews

Yea that little bit of gameplay shown looks really good. Game looks like a day one buy.. Hopefully they show more gameplay than what was shown in that trailer.

Somebody put a muzzle on this guy.

Games looks good, but extremely linear. I'm not expecting everything to be open world but this is a corridor shooter by the looks of things.

looks like there will be alot of cutscenes and QTEs. if the story isnt gripping this will be a bargain bin game month after release

Yep, but what made it a favourite was MP. This game has none.

I'm not knocking the game per se . Just that it seems very enclosed, more so than Gears. Although, it could have more expansive areas, but I can only pass judgement on what they show.

I wouldn't call Gears a corridor shooter, at least not in the traditional sense because of its open spaces for large scale battles.

That teaser doesn't show much but it does look promising. But without any sort of multiplayer its going to have to have a strong campaign and deep gameplay to get all those people who don't buy games without a multiplayer component.
 
Sorry, I can't watch video at work, but Gears is hardly corridor, expcet the first game. At the 3rd game (didn't play judgement), there are more open/semi open area than corridors. Its is still the benchmark for all 3rd person shooter. If Order gameplay is anything like gears 3, I am in.

Sorry Dno didn't mean to... I just don't want this game to be brought up in forums like Haze was to keep bashing Sony Exclusives. My apologies, plus I'm sure you can imagine the meltdowns if this gets a poor meta score

Looks great. I hope it's more than just a cover shooter, though. Look forward to hearing more.

I apologize too. You're one of the good posters and I shouldn't have made an example of you.

I was just trying to make a point that seems silly in retrospect.

We've read a lot of grumblings about 30fps on these forums. Will that turn people off from The Order like they said it turned them off from Ryse?

It looks unbelievable but it seems like you're playing a story rather than playing a game. It's one of the reasons why I'll never buy another Metal Gear game. Too much time spent watching stuff rather than actually playing. Like Yoyoniner said, it looks like a rental. I wouldn't have bought Ryse. Luckily, I was able to get it for free with a free month of Gamefly.
 
this is as next gen as Ryse, anyone saying otherwise is just lying to themselves. simple

graphics amazing, average gameplay. both

doesnt stop them being GOOD games though

that's what drove me bonkers about MGS4... 30 mins of cutscenes. 5 min gameplay... 30 min cutscene...10 min gameplay.

I think the blend of rendered CGI mixed with gameplay will create a pretty cool effect on this game, but I certainly hope it isn't just a mediocre cover based shooter between CGI cutscenes.

I agree about MGS games. Hopefully it doesn't go there as much. Although this story looks a lot more interesting than Kojima's, shall we say, strangeness.

The Order really looks completely amazing graphically. But it also looks like a rental (a very awesome rental) like Ryse.
 
can you prove me wrong? no, if anything i am the one posting based on facts and what we have seen

you are the one HOPING it is more then what we have seen

yeah i am a fanboy, thats why i called Ryse exactly the same thing.. as i said about ryse before it came out yet still bought it and enjoyed it. i dont know how many times i gotta say this.. the game doesnt need to be revolutionary to be good. i just hate people who overhype just cause its exclusive and looks pretty

but i dont wanna be here to burst your bubble so if you think it will be more feel free to spread that
