pravus & VFX_Veteran this is what I'm using......Reshade SweetFX

Download it and put it in your bin/x64 where you have the game installed. Just extract all the files into there.
After that go into the SweetFX global settings ini and tweak to your hearts desire. In general it has a very mild to almost non-existent hit to performance. Depends on the values you tweak. Also if you use it disable steam cloud saving as it will corrupt your saves forcing your game to crash constantly.

Me personally I only tweaked like Bloom and LuminaSharpen and some other things. Does wonders to the game visually. Also everything in the game graphics setting is maxed except Hairworks. I can run it but I don't like the dips in frames.

There is also this one on the nexus.....this SweetFX preset I have dabbled in as well and it isn't bad. It aims to make the game look like the original E3 game using a variety of lighting methods. Has a relatively mild hit to performance but if you can run the game mostly maxed out at even 30fps you are golden.
I'd suggest giving both a try and tweak till you have the performance/visual combo you desire.

Wait. So zoomed in static photos are being used to determine which version looks better? LMAO!! You guys are too much.... And why is the PC version included? Thats strange. Of course PC is going to look better.

Are there any more examples with the games in motion, without zoom ins or static shots?

You mad bro?

Just started playing xb1 version, had no framerate issues yet. Only in some cut scenes. Everything is smooth. Game looks really good too.

Yeah, I have a tendency to discover all the ? before moving on to the main quest. So far, they've just been bandit camps.

BTW, can bandit camps have prisoners? I was at one and in combat. I saw a deserter stand up with a talk option and then an arrow from another deserter killed him. Not sure if he was a good deserter or the enemies don't have friendly fire.
No, Bandits camps do not have prisoners. Having said that, there are some sites that do have prisoners that need setting free. These places have a cage like symbol when discovered. Those prisoners tend to be merchants, blacksmiths, and armourers.

well nobody that I've seen is saying the One version looks like an NES game just the PS4 version looks better and the PC version better then that one. Just some posters can't seem to deal with One being the weaker gaming platform out of the 3.

I rented the game on Xbox One. The visuals are fine, even beautiful. But the frame rate....headache inducing.

Are DF absolutely sure it's 30fps? The frame rate looked and felt like the time I tried to run Skyrim @ 4k.

I think when I do buy it, I'm not even going to consider a console version.
It dips lower then 30fps but then at times goes above 30 fps which=stuttering.
I think they did a great job on consoles and would happily play it on them if it was my only option.

Yeah everytime it rains for me, or in a swamp I get noticeable drops on ps4, but whatever, game is awesome.

How long did it takes to load. On my PC; its ususally 6-8 second. That do nto bitehr me, what botehr me is often, I am force to watch an unskippable comic style cutscene.

I cannot recall the number of time I watched the same Masked Elf cinematic.

What's weird though Val is that even Dead Rising 3 didn't affect me the way Witcher 3 did as far as dips and technically it was way worse.

I think W3 may have some input lag as well or something.

You can't skip those because the game is loading in the background. It's one of the MANY things about this game that I wish other games would use. Utilize loading screens with a quick catch up on the story.

But the loading after dying takes at least 30 seconds.

Yeah, it is strange. Why are loading after death times so long, yet fast travelling all the way across the map is so quick...
It's infuriating when you're fighting a boss and dying over and over. I was stuck in a cave for at least two hours without any healong items.

I've learned now I need to craft some healing potions before going forward. I can't rely solely on raw meat and beer anymore.

In many games, you get to stock up before a major fight, like dragon age, but Witcher 3 doesn't seems to do it. Also, there are some fights that goes in sequences & you have no option to save or check point to help you, resulting in fighting all the sequences all over again. Thankfully, its not so much. But an in between fight checkpoint would be nice.

Yeah me too! I am loving this game so much I don't wanna rush through main story so discovering the ? Locations and doing side quests suited for my level.
Only downside to this is sometimes there is something nasty in the ? places.
Yesterday rocked up to one location and this level 16 ghoul hybrid was running around with spikes on his back, I tried fighting it for 2 mins and didn't dent it so ran away......I was level 4

You can just run away. I have done so once or twice. Then I meditate to get all my potions & bombs restored, then enter the fray once again.

And in person its even greater of a difference in some parts generational.

Even with the PS4 version having the same 1080p resolution still a huge difference between it and the PC and the same goes with the Xbox One's 900p looking significantly worse then both.
Ouch.

I have the strategy guide and read that there are 70 levels. To get the most experience with enemies is taking them on when they are 5 levels higher.

If you fight them when they are the same level as you, I guess you'll never get as much experience.

Just something to think about. I'm sure it won't break the game or anything, but if you want to max out Geralt...keep that in mind.

I love how a few days go by and geralts beard will start growing. Also the quests are some of the best i have ever had in a rpg, this clearly is the best rpg in a long long time and dragon age not even close to it now. It is my favorite game this gen so far. Right now this is my goty no question, and easily the best x1 game

why are you in a thread talking about the looks of the game when it looks the worse on One and you simply can't stand that for some reason. Big deal One looks the worse and will always look the worse when it comes to this game so leave the thread as it seems you simply can't deal with it. You keep saying well look at it move next thing you know you'll be saying well the game looks the same to a blind man or tell me what if someone has one glass eye does it matter to him what the game looks like.

He wants the Xbox One to be 'joint second' rather than last place in a comparison because he absolutely hates Sony, the PS4 and thinks the people who bought it are - I quote - 'idiots'.

In the land of the blind, a one eyed Mcmasters is pushed off a cliff rather than made king.
