The Witcher 3: Official Thread, v. 3.0

Why are you so sure they couldn't? Dropping to 900p would allow them easily to hit 30 and then some.
33-35fps is not "30 and then some." And you want the visuals to be pushed more and suffer from dips from there. So what exactly do you what visually to be improved in this minuscule amount of headroom?

Finally finished all of the Act I main quests. Tomorrow I'll start cleaning up the secondary quests and contracts. I'm not in a rush, so maybe by the weekend I'll b on to Act II.

I decided to leave the tweaks alone for now. I'm really enjoying it as-is. I did tweak the Hairworks down but it still doesn't really give performance boost on cutscenes (where the camera zooms in) and in the rain. I have disabled Hairworks for now to keep a constant 30fps.

I'd play an NES version. I'll be getting it for the Xbox One eventually though. The Witcher 3 isn't a game you argue about, you just play it. Then again, that's the way it should be for any game. Ugh, why do i even come to forums.

I don't know about you guys but one thing I find fairly unsatisfying is using Aard or Igni to knock someone off of a horse, there is virtually no animation or impact, they just float to the ground and land on their backs. In the original trailer it looked awesome when they showed a clip of it but they seem to have forgotten to include that animation in the game lol.

Didn't know you could do this, thanks!

To discuss the games you are passionate about?

Tried beating that tree f*cker out near that giant tree in Velen. He was a level 20, I was 9. I got close then he sicked his wolves on me and I got destroyed. I wonder if that treasure was worth trying for.

Yeah, sorry. I felt like MW after i posted that.
It's all good. Most of us are loving the Witcher on our little old consoles. This generation has empowered the PC snobs and they feel the need to give us all digital-wedgies for holding back their great systems for all those years.

Still on that grind too beat the first 2 games!! Now my question is would you guys rather have a locked 30fps with hairworks on or 60fps where its dips below the 45fps?

The Baron= GoT's Robert Baratheon??? Sounds like the same guy.

Why be in this type of thread if you don't like the talk?

BTW for all those also playing it on the PC patch 1.04 came out today. Among the improvements it adds improved rendering to the ultra and high textures qualities and also further improves hairworks performance.

Nah, it isn't Mark Addy. It certainly seems like that GOT character has a strong influence on the Baron, though.

I really wish that at some point, some game will allow us to run & jump off elevated ground and double hand plunge our sword in to the rider.

Too much sharpness. But I'd like you to hook me up with your sweetfx profile. Now! Please...with a cherry on top!

The only thing that really bugs me is how Geralt controls under water. It just plain sucks.

This thread is hilarious. Why did we need 3 pages to keep stating the obvious? I mean PC>PS4>X1, Thread done.

How can they do both? What exact can they improve with so little wiggle room?
So little wiggle room...it is a huge 40% difference. According to people like Valliance, that is huge and earth shattering. With so much more power to utilize, the PS4 would look better than the PC version at 4k:laugh:

Yeah. When I run the game at 4k the sharpness doesn't bother me. However it doesn't manifest all that well with pics. Toning down the sweetfx sharpness and the game sharpness as well.
As for my sweetfx profile stuff I posted alot of that info on the first page of this thread.

I am only interested in your Sweetfx preset.

From a narrative standpoint, this game has to be one of the best in rpg.

I just finish family affair, so much depth & emotion, could have been a self contain mini adventure game itself.

Ciri is one cheeky, charismatic young lady. When I saw here promo pics and in cutscenes video, I was like "hmmm". But getting to play her and how she behave etc in game, I am enjoying every moment she appeared, either as playable, or just cutscene. She is like the Loki in Thor movies, you just keep waiting for her to make the next appearance.
