Tomb Raider 2015 Timed? Exclusive To Xbox

Halo was multiplatform that went exclusive. Those on PC couldn't continue the Halo saga on PC.

Yeah but Halo was put on PC because original Xbox didn't have a big user base so they wanted to get a bigger user base for Halo franchise so when it releases on 360(Halo 3) it would be a big seller. Which turn out to be a good move for them.

I know I will preorder this as soon as its available. I think dedicated xbox gamers should fully support this so it sells well. And like someone else said here, by the time its released, x1 will be available in many more countries.

Wierd that ive almost had my x1 for a year and its still not officially released here in Norway. Mine is imported from Ireland :)

Doesn't matter...still pissed off the PC people.

Simple, if you own an X1 and are deliberately passing on this just because it's exclusive, you're hurting the franchise. People are silly.

I played the first but the online save would not load, I would just get a black screen and could hear background noise. I was towards the end, no way was I going through all that again.

This doesn't effect me in the least so I'm having a good time watching the reactions from both sides. Some of the over the top reactions are priceless and reaffirms my belief the average consumer has to be in their late teens/early 20's.

I guess TR fans are mad that a franchise that started on the PS is going to have a game exclusive to another platform.

I mean Saturn fans were angry right?

Oh how people have short memories.

Like I said before:

TR started on PC, Saturn and PC.

This is good for Microsoft and the Xbox One, but bad for gaming.

Whether it's Destiny or Watch Dogs or Assassins Creed: Black Flag or Titanfall or now Tomb Raider, draining your first party budget/resources to buy up exclusive content or games that would otherwise be multiplatform does nothing but hurts gamers who only own one console and also leads to less original first party content due to less money that Microsoft/Sony now have to work with.

Sony and Microsoft really need to stop doing this crap. The only people that should be happy about this Destiny and Tomb Raider exclusivity are the PS and Xbox fanboys (because they get to brag about a corporation). Everybody else loses. Fanboys lose too, but they are too dumb to recognize it.

Big games are expensive to make. If gamers still want these large games then they will have to know that will come with some compromises. I would rather have a huge game I can play that is missing a map pack or an exclusive level then settle for a smaller game that is not as feature rich. Sony and Microsoft can not totally fund every big game out there from start to finish. I would rather they help ten games get made over making one or two more games a year.

Those were the days. There was nothing quite like TR back then.

Holy moley, this is huge. The Tomb Raider reboot is my favorite new-gen game and it’s a port from last generation.

And this is a true exclusive:
This is not a timed exclusive, but a genuine one, as confirmed by Crystal Dynamics head Darrell Gallagher on the Tomb Raider tumblr. "

Anyone claiming this is bad for gaming is just wrong. Without exclusive gaming competition is limited and gamers lose. These exclusive deals differentiate platforms which allow the gaming industry to continue to grow. Its in gamers best interests to support multiple platforms.

It's MS so people are pissed. I didn't see anyone be this pissed when Souls developer made Bloodbourne exclusive to Sony Playstation 4.

Big deal. It's just business. It just pisses me off more when MS does something like this it gets hated. But if Sony does it gets all the praise in the world and everyone acts like Sony just saved the world.

I find things like Bloodborne (and Demon Souls which came before Dark Souls) and Gears of War and Mass Effect and Sunset Overdrive to be different.

In this case, MS and Sony helped create, invest in, and launch a new IP that might have otherwise never been made.

In the case of Watch Dogs, Destiny, Tomb Raider and even Titanfall, they simply paid off a company not to release it on the competitor's platform. This hurts people who only own one console and also leads to less original first party content.

And I don't see anybody praising Sony over their exclusive Watch Dogs and Destiny content. Most people were annoyed and this increasingly annoying industry trend.

The good thing about this being a MS exclusive is the possibility of it coming to PC down the road. I just played TR not too long ago so I can wait a bit.

I think the point about that was that it would be better if they were putting that money into first party studios/exclusives.

The only gamers mad about this are those without a X1. Simple solution is to go out and purchase a X1. ;)

But seriously, I'm reading some incredibly hateful reactions from some on the web that imply Square just killed a bunch of puppies.

To be honest, I do not blame them sony fans at all. If It was the other way round xbox gamers would be super pissed too. I am an advocate for making all games available on all platforms.

big get for MS, wonder how much the money hat. don't think the usual 50 million would get it done this time.

As a grown up with a job, and an owner of both consoles, this means nothing. The people this is really pissing off are teenage fanboy freeloaders who still need their parents to buy their games for them. Being loyal to one company over another does not pay, and this is proof of it. I find the butthurt hilarious though. You want to play Rise of the Tomb Raider???...then buy an X1 or STFU!

You nailed it my friend.

Then what’s the point of having different platforms if all games appear on all of them? This is what brings the best out in others, brings platform-holders to out do one another. And it encourages gamers to be owners of all or most platforms adding growth and innovation to the industry.

You want to play Gears of War you need a Xbox. You want to play Uncharted you need a Playstation. You want to play Bayonetta 2 you need a Wii-U. I’m actually thinking of getting a Wii-U now because it has a couple games I’d like to play. Bayonetta 2 being the biggest draw for me. Same thing with services unless you liked having to use text chat on the PS3. Live is directly responsible for PSN getting so much better. Competition…….it’s a wonderful thing.

Where is that quote from?
Darrell Gallagher doesn't say it's not timed or it's a genuine exclusive on the tumblr blog.
