Which 4K HDR TV are you planning to buy for Scorpio or One s?

I was looking at some 4K HDR Tv's and was surprised there isn't a huge price difference between these and 1080p. My TV will be 10 years old this September. I think its about time to upgrade.

none as when I do see them in the store yeah they're pretty but to me 1080 is good enough for my 55 Inch TV I got now I'm happy. Give me a game that runs 1080P 60FPS and is locked there and I'm a happy boy. Don't need this 4K stuff till my TV I got now brakes and I just got it like over a year ago so I see it being used for a long time.

I also got to say when I look at the colors OF the TV's in the store the colors look fake it's like they ran everything in Photoshop or something.

That my friend is 4k with HDR

I'm not buying a 4k TV or Scorpio right away if the prices are crazy. My gawd how fast technology moves these days. I feel like i just got into HD.

I am looking at getting the TV sorted this year. That gives me a clear year for Scorpio, all inclusive 2 weeks in Mexico and sadly an engagement ring for my long suffering girlfriend. She did get past the 1st test (14 years together) and she is responsible for getting me back into gaming after a long old break. So 2017 is stuffed full of expense for me!
14 years and still no ring?!

I've stolen the jewelry from an ex's grand parent after the 2 month stage...in defence, it was really old and she had kept it through all the war. It would have only reminded her of bad things.

Just make sure your TV is an Android TV = cough *** FREE Live HD NBA league pass & UFC PPV *** cough

Not sure yet..I'm looking at LG's super hdr, 4k series. I wish they'd come out with a more affordable of their OLED G6 HDR series next year. Luckily, there's plenty of time to find something awesome within my budget. Good times ahead.

LG OLED is literally the best in the world right now. Samsung's competing product is good, but not nearly as good.

I haven;'t really scoped out TV costs a lot, but skimming flyers most TVs released now are 4k by default. I've seen 4k TVs as low as $600 here in Canada for small TVs, all the way up to $5,000 for large OLED ones.

It looks like the sweet spot for 50-60" tvs is ~$1,500 range. Some more, some less. So I'll assume in the US, you can knock off a few hundred bucks to get similar tvs.

i settled for the LG OLED C6, it's thousands of dollars cheaper, it doesn't come with the soundbar or the picture on glass design but the PQ is pretty much the same I'm told. Amazing picture just watching 1080p blurays, can't imagine how UHD blus with HDR look.

How is the TV?
Sound quality is very good considering the size of the speakers.

Amazon Prime 4k is outstanding.

Xbox One games look fantastic, x360 games are very much improved.

PS4, also looking great, but Eveybodys Gone To The Rapture was looking weird in that when I moved all the light/white parts darkened sleightly and then brightened up again when I stopped moving. Shall try again later.

Very impressed with it.

Which is better these days? LG, Samsung or Sony?

I'd go Panasonic > Samsung = LG > Sony.

If this was 10 years ago, I'd go Pioneer >>> all of them.... assuming you have an extra $1,000 to spend on a similarly sized tv.

Not a fan of Pioneer, so you would say Samsung > LG > Sony? or you think Samsung and LG are nearly identical?

I'm going to wait till next year when the scorpio comes out, and then I'll have the latest 4KTV on offer and just in time for Christmas sales as well.

In terms of pure quality, I'd say Panny > Samsung > LG = Sony

But if I bring price into it (to get some kind of value equation), I'd still go with Panny though they cost a bit more. But I'd say Samsung = LG as LG stuff is usually a touch cheaper than Samsung.

Sony stuff is ok, but not worth the price.

Vizio is a brand that reviews say is decent interms of quality, but sometimes hit and miss. But the prices are probably the best. If you can score a good model, it might be the best ranked overall as the prices are great.... probably the cheapest out of known brand names.

No worries about Pioneer. They ditched tvs long time ago. But their Kuros plasmas destroyed all competing tvs back in the day.

I have a Vizio 65" right now, but gonna go 4K and at least 70 inch. Best Buy had a Vizio that was 4K and 70 inches when I was there this weekend for $1199.00. But I mentally get a feeling that these Vizio are still budget/low quality TV's. But again that is just my mental perception. I could be way off base. I know Sony TV's in the past were of good quality, but lately, TV's have surpassed them in quality and for less money. Maybe Sony has lowered their prices these days, not sure.

Focus on the Vizio 2016 p series . I recently purchased the 65 inch version . 75 is the largest they go . The p series supports both HDR formats as well .

but again for the price of a P65-C1 ($1999.99) you can get a LG 55EF9500 from Walmart for the same price.

Better quality.
Well depending on the size room you have the lg is 10 inches smaller. The Vizio p55 is on sale for 899.00. that's over 1000 cheaper . Also if you're going to do a lot of gaming on a television input lag is really important. The lg was tested at 53ms of input lag. The Vizio was tested at 17.3. that's a big difference ..The 65 inch version of that lg TV is 3500.00. also the lg does not support dobly vision.
Here are the reviews for both ...

I agree on the size but a television is predominantly used for watching TV and when it comes to PQ you can't look past the LG OLED range they are the best in the business right now.
